csiman wrote:These discounts people quote are nothing new. I have been paying £12.49 for the 4MB Broadband and free phone line rental for 3-4 years now. I just have to ring up every 6 months and threaten to leave and they reduce the BB from £24.99 to £12.49 and reduce the line rental from £11.50 to zero. Great deal but it does take hours of your life trying to get through to their customer disservice centre.
Wow, you obviously have some serious hard core negotiating skills - what's your secret? That's the best deal I've heard of!!!!!!!!! :T0 -
i was on 3 for £30... got offered a free V+ box, no extra subscription and my broadband doubled to 4mb. grabbed it with both hands! £30/month subs guaranteed indefinitely0

if you're not with them for the phone don't forget http://www.saynoto0870.com to keep the call costs down.0

The guy i spoke to reckoned the Sky thing would be sorted of soon anyway as Virgin have agreed to let Sky use their channels.
anyway how is anyone finding V+?0 -
I spoke to VM today. only managed to negotiate an upgrade to next TV package. just checked it and only got a few more channels. nothing very exciting.
anyone got any tips?
cheers :T0 -
I tried twice last week to get a change to my package (wanted to switch to one of the 'new customers only' 2 for £20 special deals to cut my monthly bill), but to no avail. The last person I spoke to pretty much said that I should just leave, and that I would only get a special deal if I wanted to upgrade, which I don't - we hardly watch TV as it is, so I certainly don't need any more channels. The name may have changed, but they're still Teleworst...0

I had to wait 25 minutes listening to the same inane tune before I spoke to someone!! I have Line Rental: £11, TV XL: £20.50 and Broadband L: £25. Total £56.50/month. They have deducted £10.50 off this "for ever", an 18.6% reduction.0

A big thank you for letting us know about this. I just rang up Virgin Media and got free family package for 6 months. I did ask about Sky Sports as well..., but he wasn't letting me have that. My kids will be thrilled!0

Thanks a lot.. that was a great tip. I called up and said I'm not happy at all.
She took my account details and said let me see what I can do for you.. at first she offered me a 6 month free upgrade to the L package and I said no I think I might just switch to Sky.. after some negotiation she said yeah I can give you the free upgrade indefinetly for as long as your our customer, and I said ok I suppose that will have to do for now.
It's a good deal as before all I had was the 3 for £30 deal
Everyone should phone up.0
