Do you have a life plan?

My life goals are:-
* To get through my Trust Deed and then never get into debt again. I am so much better at budgetting now so I know I can do this!
* Meet Mr Right! (He will come along eventually......... I hope!)
* Get a mortgage
* Get married (to Mr Right!)
* Have at least 2 children
* Be financially stable~ Car HP - £844.29 still to pay - Final payment July 2008
~ 18 monthly payments left of my Trust Deed
PROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBTS0 -
My long term plans are:
Move (back) to Australia with my husband
Buy a house.
Have kids.. probably.
Find a job in editing/publishing
I'd like siberian huskie (I've always wanted one) <G>.
Also, to pay off my debts.. it's more a matter of when than if though.0 -
And yes, people do keep huskies in Australia.. I saw some in a pet shop there a couple of yrs ago - they were so lovely.0

Don't think I have a complete life plan yet, just some vague ideas... but I definitely know what I want to do in the next couple of years, so will list that.
I've crossed one thing off my life 'to do' list so far, I passed my driving test last week.
Get married in 2008 (or 2009 at the VERY latest!) We've been engaged since 2004 and I'm starting to get annoyed at having to wait so long! Need to save 5000 pounds for our dream wedding/honeymoon and don't want to book anything until we've saved a minimum of half. We're going to have a huge clear out and sell stuff to raise more money for the wedding before we move house in the next few months.
Train for a new more rewarding career with a higher salary, don't know what yet though!
Get a dog and some chickens.
Pay off credit card debt and never ever have another credit card.
Sometime in the future...
Build our own house
Do more travelling
Start a business
I did say I only had vague plans... :rolleyes:0 -

Hi guys!! I should be doing some work but this is much more interesting
. Good to hear what other people have planned for the future, and I'm really nosy too, so its great
!
Well, I've achieved a few things so far that I'd set out to do, being, move to London, become debt free, and travel - although I am half way through the travelling part....
Once I have finished my travelling (not sure when that will be, maybe another 12-18 months), I want to return to London and get a job in the City working for a law firm, save as much money as possible to buy a little 2 bed flat in Hitchin. Somewhere in between this I would also like to live in Ireland for 6 months, and take a few months off to see Europe. Eventually I then want to be mortgage free and buy a couple of investment property's. And I guess a hubby & kids will crop up somewhere along the way..
Yes, think I may have my hands full! Not enough hours in the day!
I know things will change, and if and when I meet "Mr Right", things will differ, but I dont think there is any harm in having a rough life plan for yourself that doesnt include sitting around waiting for "Mr (or Mrs) Right". Get out there and achieve some of the things you want to do while you can and enjoy it!!
Funnily enough I have just met a great guy here in Australia, just enjoying it for what it is & not trying to analyise it. But I still want to achieve what I wanted to travel wise, so we'll see how things go.
I am sorry SS & Jamesy - I guess I did find my "Aussie Hunk" afterall, so you're both dumped
!!
How are you guys doing? Missing you!!
Had better do some work.

What a great thread, it's certainly given me something to think more about.
I'd like to:- Pass my exams to better my job prospects
- Stay out of debt
- Get a job
- Save £2000 so DD and I can go to California in summer 2008
- Replace car at the end of the year (if it lasts that long) using cash already in my ISA
- Decorate throughout by end of 2008 replacing furniture as required
- Lose 4 stone by October (my 40th birthday)
- and an added bonus would be to find me a man

Its a bit late for me to have a life plan. My whole life has been one financial mess and its not getting any better. However the best I can hope for is:
Pay off our debts as quickly as possible. In a year would be ideal.
Save the money to do up this old house.
Support my daughter through uni and my son too if he manages to get there.
Save some money towards retirement if we can as OH doesnt have any kind of pension.
Have some kind of quality of life because at the moment its all work, work, work and no play at all. Thats for both of us.The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0 -
well my two sons will be staying with us for years cause they have autism, but we would like to
save for daughters wedding
buy her driving lessons
buy her a car
help her with deposit for home.
we will be debt free within 5 years, lol ready to get her off to a good start ( more debt?) lol. also if anyone out there has a disabled child... did you know that you can have an extention built for free ( no mater who owns you house) .... contact occupational health and local council. !totally debt free:j and mortgage free too 20100
