I don't understand the bit about being called a liar. Maybe the person you spoke to wasn't aware of any issue with the ivr and the mistake they made was to say 'there wasn't an issue", rather than "I'm not aware of any issues with it.

But I had just told the person that there was a problem with the IVR! Here's the conversation from memory (me in bold):

Hi. I chose option 1 & 1 just so I could speak to someone because your IVR isn't working -- it told me that the 'number was not recognised' after selecting the option I wanted. Could you put me through to someone who can help me port my number in to Orange?
    The IVR is working fine.
No it's not -- I chose the relevant option, it played the error message, then disconnected me. That can't be intentional!
Well, we haven't had any calls about it.
Of course you have! You're taking one now!?!
Well, let me check... (2 second pause)... No, it's working fine from here.
Well, I don't really care. I just want to speak to someone to port in my number.
    This isn't the right option -- you chose option 1 & 1. You want 4 & 1.
I know I do! The IVR isn't working! I've tried it three times!
Well, I can't really do anything about that.

As you can see, I was essentially told that I was lying when I told them their IVR wasn't working! They hadn't even tried it! I had! Three times! Eventually she said, "Well you can dial the PAC team directly on 0800....". Why the f*** was that not the first thing she said?!

Why would someone trained to listen to customers all day ignore everything I was saying and try to get into an argument about an irrelevant point?! I've had several customer service positions and I would never speak to a customer like that!

Aaaargh!!!! I'll put it down to her (and me!) "having a bad day". :p
