Email from e2save about a delay in cashback - is this unusual?
I sent in my bills and got acknowledgement of the successful claim in the first week of April so I was expecting the cheque this week.
I was a bit surprised to receive the email below late this afternoon:
We’re really sorry to inform you there is a delay with your cashback / refund cheque being issued to you. This is due to a printing error within our banking team which has affected all cheques we’ve processed during April. We understand how frustrating this must be for you and we’re really sorry for the delay caused.
We’re pleased to confirm all cheques are in the process of being printed and will be with you no later than 19th May. We’d be grateful if you could refrain from contacting us before May 22nd if the cheque hasn’t been received.
I've had a few e2save contracts before but this is the first time I've come across this from them. It seems reminiscent of the excuses that some of the more "unreliable" companies trot out before things go belly up - although being a CPW company, I doubt that's the case here.
Has anyone else received this before?

It's unlikely CPW is going to go under any time soon.
The emil answers your question which is to wait until 19th.
Keep a record of email. I think the CPW have sent an email so customers don't start to email or telephone them in reference to this.0 -
If the delay is outside of the agreed ts + cs for getting paid, you might want to ask what would be their reaction if you broke an agreed deadline to get a claim in to them and asked them to give you 3 weeks grace to comply!0

We were waiting on the final cashback cheque and they had a few day left, then we just received this email too.0

Hey Quentin. Nice to see that you're still here posting excellent messages. You helped me out about 3-4years ago with an e2save cashback issue, and I managed to successfully take them to court and get the full cashback for breach of T&C's.
Jaxer - best to wait till the date they've advised, and if the cheque hasn't been received by then, definitely take them to court and ask for the FULL cashback. Keep us posted, and good luck!0 -
The same thing happened around Nov last year, I had same email, and in the end they reissued the cheque which I received last Dec.0

According to some on here who regularly tell the uninitiated that all they need do is follow what CPW tell them and cashback is sure to follow it's good to be reminded that it is NOT that simple. Coming from me and one or two others (including Quentin) appears merely to draw fire from people producing such guff.0 -
Funnily enough I got my cheque on Monday and the email last night.
However this has set lots of alarm bells ringing for me. I had thought that as part of CPW these companies were safe but I guess no one really knows how seperate they are in terms of responsibility for debts. I wonder whether any of these companies could go bust and not be supported by cpw?
Cheque delay obviously smacks very strongly of cash flow issues.
Here's hoping it is not the case.I think....0 -
I doubt it. Incompetence more like. As for "safe" and going bust; they are CPW "trading as" and when suing becomes necessary you sue CPW.0

lol then the post comes with the cheque0
