What to do with unused pet medication

Which is why I recommended looking on 'closed' forums rather than a public one like this. There are yahoo user groups for everything these days, communities of people supporting each other with specific issues. These users will have visited a vet for diagnosis and prescription of drugs.fluffnutter wrote: »It's a great sentiment but two of these drugs were specifically prescribed for the dog following an examination by a vet. I'd hate to think that someone without training or qualifications might give these drugs to another animal only to cause the dog more harm than good.
So for example

OP could post on one of these forums asking if anyone is using a particular drug and go from there.
Anyway, it sounds as if a solution has been found in this case.0 -

I must say that would surprise me- certainly rescues have huge vet bills (generally)- they know what is prescribed- maybe this way they are helped out for a month, or so.
Drugs going to Nepal are certainly administered by vets- just see the website
That's not the issue really, its that they can't be 100% sure that the drugs are what they're supposed to be, are the dose that they're supposed to be, are within their expiration date and haven't been tampered with.
I wouldn't take them, but if other people are willing to and its legal then there's no harm giving them away I suppose.
There's no need to be sarcastic to fluffnutter.0 -
I honestly wish to god I had never asked about these and just binned the fuffin things
its a sad state we live in when trying to be nice is not the done thing any more and in trying to be nice I have had my character questioned more than once
I haven't tampered with them, I have no intention of trying to what? poison? peoples pets and to accuse me of such I think is pretty insulting
thank you to the ONE person that actually said condolences! I hope when any of you lose a pet you are all treated with more compassion than I have been and I shall certainly think twice before I try to help anyone out again!!
this thread has left a bitter taste ... *walks away shaking head dismally*A heap big thank you to everyone who posts the comps, your all stars!
Proud to of never used or felt the need to use a chain of any sorts on a puppy0 -

Wow, what a massive overreaction.
Nobody saying YOU'VE tampered with them etc. just that whoever's receiving them can't possibly be 100% sure of their origin and safety. Would you have given your pet medications from an unknown source? I certainly wouldn't no matter how nice a person they seemed, the risk is just not worth it.
Nobody's accused you of anything, maybe when you've calmed down and you re-read the thread you'll realise that.
I am sorry for your loss, and I just hope that grief is what's causing you to be so rude to people who are just trying to answer your question honestly and help you!0 -
