    The problem is that you're splitting your phone service out in a way that doesn't makes much sense-there's little saving for not taking VM's telephony if you have their TV and broadband. Effectively you are paying line rental twice, and for an inclusive calls package with BT that you don't use.
    What is your estimated line speed using ADSL rather than cable or FTTC? You don't actually need fibre or cable to watch YouTube or download a few films. If you can get 2-3Mbps upwards then ADSL will do the job. only you can decide if you want/need the luxury of the extra speed. If you do, there will be a higher price to pay.
    Pull up the samknows data and post the LLU options, then run a speed checker (it'll have to be postcode based) using a couple of the likely providers.
    No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
