  • Well all that stressing for nothing. OH just rang and said go on Amazon and buy me that game cos its on now and its cheap.

So I said well you can't buy it as its on your Christmas list and people have seen your Christmas list and could be buying you it. So he answered "well if I buy it now then it can come off list"

BLOODY SMARTPHONES!!!!! he was on dinner break and browsing the deals.

Since I have already ordered it as a gift would it be cruel to say I am wrapping it for Christmas so he can't have it until then?

I dont think it would be cruel as ive done this with my OH. Only because throughout the year he's buying games ect - So, I have nothing left to buy him. This year tho, I've ordered and wrapped! Cant miss what he never had ay! ;) x

Have been to the Doctors. Am now on way to X-ray department. Typically it doesn't open until 2. Will get results in about a week.

Thanks, he did this last year, made a list of the things he wanted for Christmas then attempted to buy it all before then. The arguments we had in shops about how he couldn't buy either of the games or DVDs he wanted since I knew my mum was buying one and my sister the other, but obviously didn't want to give away which ones.
    I could throttle him!

I would say (and have before).... "we can't. I pointed out to my mum/ nanny/ dog it was cheap on there today so she's already bough it for you".
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:

I am suddenly feeling all super Christmassy as I watched A Christmas Carol with my little special year 8 class today...(going to use it to do some writing around it, and look at some extracts from the novel)...I think they were a bit unimpressed but I was grinning my head off and it cheered me right up. Want to watch the rest of it now but I musn't! Just off to LIDL with my grandparents...

Quick question - probably a silly one but anyway - Truffles, is there a reason we dont use milk chocolate (does it not set as well or something?) Im looking to make these as a gift for parents hamper but mum isnt so keen on dark chocolate so if I can get away with using milk it would be better, if not she has no choice but to enjoy it anyway lol

Ususally you can subsitute milk for the dark, sometimes the milk remeins a little lumpy, if you search for milk truffle recipie there must be some out there, its really just a ganache recipie rolled in cocoa/nuts/vermicelli ar what ever you fancy HTH x

You cant go wrong with Good foods recipes..just substitute the pistachios for anything you fancy http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/4986/milk-chocolate-and-pistachio-truffles
  • Oh my goodness..these sound amazing! http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/8272/melting-middle-truffles might have to do a trial run!!
