  • OMO those jars are beautiful :) I managed to find a larger one (about 20cms tall) at a car boot sale earlier in the year for £1 - I plan to cover it in snowflakes :)

ChirpyChick I actually purchased some candy canes today. I got mine in TheRange - if you are completely out of luck finding them local, they have them fairly cheap on ebay. There are an awful lot of them with statements like "selling fast" and "not available in store" so I'm guessing that they are quite popular :)

Well my day didn't go quite to plan :( Making up the Christmas boxes for my latest order took hours longer then I had anticipated. So I didn't get to do any crafting for myself.

However, I did manage to pick up 20 metres of cellophane for £1.98 in Lidl and grabbed 12 candy canes for £1 :)

Just remembered that I bought some lovely bits in Poundland today, they have packs of 20 cellophane bags (gingerbread men and snowflakes) including ribbon so got one pack of each and got the snowman fridge magnet set (thanks to whoever mentioned it) alo some more xmas bin bags and SELLOTAPE cos I keep losing mine and I want to wrap some stuff tonight. :) Going to put a DVD on (probably not a christmassy one, treated myself to The Decoy Bride on DVD today so will prob put that on and drool over David Tennant. :D Only £3 in Asda, cheapest online is £6 in case any DT fans are interested!) have a lovely bagel with Philadephia and a can of coke and wrap away lol! Sorry forgot to say earlier as I was too busy moaning!! :o but I got some lovely bits from Matalan yesterday:

Refreshers mug £5 on 3 for 2for stepdad

Reindeer patterned dinner set £10 (also had xmas tree pattern)

Large glass jar of sweets (had diff ones, pink/white mice, humbugs, bonbons) reduced to £4 and on 3 for 2 so works out £2.66 each! Such a bargain, the jars are large and I doubt you could do it yourself cheaper. I got my nan a much tinier plastic jar of sweets from Asda and that alone was £2!!

Takeaway menu folder £4 and on 3 for 2 (fab if you know anyone who lives on takeaways, got one for my brother as his sort of jokey gift!)

Also just about to order my sister some Far Away stuff from Avon for xmas and this sets look perfect if you want to do gift baskets but are short on time or a bit nervous of doing them from scratch. Look good value too! http://avonshop.co.uk/shop/search.asp?find_spec=wrap your

  • Watching home alone feeling very christmassy!!

Bought my tags & ribbon today to go with my Kraft paper for adult presents, just need to buy the presents now roll on Friday for my first proper Christmas shop!
  • Well, went to see the lights switched on intown today. we were all hyped up & i was sooo looking forward to the christmas market, but it was, erm, pathetic at best! 6 overpriced stalls, none of them very xmassy, selling stuff that we can pick up in hb / £land for a quater of the price! The lights themselves were also a bit naf. But the highlight was seeing santa arrive on his sleigh pulled by 2 real-life reindeer! we got to pet "dancer" & "prancer" and it was one of those unforgettable moments, dd's faces were a picture!
Dh has booked tickets today for me & youngest dd to go & see cbeebies justin & friends in april!! managed to get us really good seats but set us back £60 (weve promised her all year that if ever justin comes to nottingham we will take her!). So im now going to make up some kind of letter/poster on word & give it as a christmas gift, as its so expensive. This means i will hold back one of the presents ive already got so she isnt over budget, therefor I have officially got my first xmas 2013 present!!! Trying to think of a nice way to present tickets/poster as a gift, maybe buy the cbeebies album or dvd to go with it? any ideas welcome please

sometimes i catch up on the posts and never comment but i must thank all the crafty things on here that have really inspired me.
i am about to do a mini stall at church fair. I have offered to donate £10 for stall or half of takings. I have necklaces etc all done. One of mini ideas is the Xmas paper cups with santa on from the pound shop filled with pocket toys in cello wrap.
off now to see what still lurks on top of the wardrobe and under the stairs that needs to go to santa!!
Don’t put it down - put it away!

Chirpychick-If you need me to get you some candycanes and post them I will happily. Theres loads of peppermint ones round here! I remember my friend couldnt get hold of any last year either! Ive seen them in Asda, Tesco, B&M, HB, Sainsburys, 99p store and Poundland so far.

Thank you, that is really kind, I will wait and see if we manage to find any this week if not I might take you up on your offer.

(p.s totally jealous of your Twilight cups LOL)

For some reason, I really struggle with kids gifts. They never look like I think they should.

I am not sure if I am going to put them on FB or just take them to the 2 PARTIES I HAVE HAD BOOKED :j:j:j
  • OMO those are adorable!

I know what you mean about struggling with children gifts :( This is why I buy mine, as the Children I have to get for will just out-rightly say if they don't like something and drop it on the floor etc :(

No problem at all. :) I was a bit over-excited to get all 3 cups but I did feel a bit silly saying Pepsi in a Bella cup please. :rotfl: My DS has been playing with them all evening, who needs toys lol!

    Lovely gifts OMO. :)
