<<hugs>> to jeningers. I've been there too and would like to think I know how you must be feeling. Hopefully you have lots of people around to be with.
I've a favour to ask of the creative types among you........ I've made my dad a sweet hamper and decanted the packets into glass jars. But I'd like to label them up as something unusual.
there are:
- flying saucers
- jellyatrics (old people jelly babies)
- retro cubes (like cola cubes in different colours)
- bananas/ shrimps
Any ideas gratefully appreciated.
p.s. there are other things just these are the ones I've decanted.
If not can anyone think up a good name/ poem for the hamper?
I've also sorted my elf hamper just got to make the blanket/ pillow for it while DS1 is at school tomorrow.
also I'm soooo cross. I ordered some cardboard cut holly and berries - just tiny ones - to stick on gift tags. They arrived yesterday morning and have now vanished off the face of the earth.............elves at work already??? ETA: found them ........ down the back of the sofa under the radiator...........of course - now why didn't I think to look there first!!loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
sorry to hear all the sad news, and no nhs/doctors dont take it seriously before your first trimester is over as "your not really pregnant as you may miscarry" is what i got told by a doc during my first trimester deeply upsetting have never forgot it.

So sorry to hear of your sad news Jen and to hear of everyones misfortunes
Im glad you have family around to help you through this!
Just spent the last hour online uploading photos to make a photobook and prints for a scrapbook - not so much fun when youve got flu, worked a 6 day week last week and getting ready for another funfilled (haha) week at work! Seems a bit meaningless complaining about flu after reading the above so Im just gonna suck it up and get on with it!
Got more chocolate yesterday ready to make chocolate slabs a few weeks before christmas I think, Im lucky Im young no family to look after so will have the time coming up to christmas to bake as late as I can so everything is still as fresh as it can be. (I dont trust myself storing it all right lol)
Started collecting the tesco £1 tokens a few weeks ago and so far have £18 so that will really help towards christmas. We usually shop at a local farm shop so all our veg and fresh stuff will come from there (apart from the meat - they wanted £30 for a turkey to feed 2 people!!!) so tescos will be cupboard stuff (not alot needed if any actually) the meat and the odds really.
Cant wait to start decorating my desk at work, I even tidied the whole area last week to prepare, this is my first christmas in this job, my manager doesnt seem keen on christmas too much but the other pods of desks are so she just has to go with it and I keep winding her up lolLife is what you make it.0 -
I got my festive friends from Morrisons (99p each) after they were sold out in Tesco, but everywhere is sold out of Peppermint candy canes :-O
Tesco, Asda & Morrisons have been tried now and no candy canes!!!
I hang candcanes on my Christmas tree and I am also the only one that eats them lol but I will be so disappointed if I don't manage to find any.
Last year I ended up with mini ones from poundland and it just wasn't the same.
Is there anywhere else I can look for them?Everything is always better after a cup of tea0 -

I got mine in the 99p store and QDs. Both of them were fine.
Nanamia I got this tree today in QDs for £4.99. It is 40cm high. I am going to take the flowers off and lightly spray it with white spray paint to imitate snow.(It is battery operated.)
Hope you have a QDs near you.x
Made my Vanilla & Brown Sugar Hand Scrub today. It is really the body scrub, but because the bottles are smallish I have called it hand scrub.
I found these bottles in a cheap shop in town today at 6 for £4, which was too good not to get.0 -
Finished the tree
Couldn't take one with the lights on as they were to bright.
They are blue and white.0 -
Came home with a bargain today
Popped to Dunelm and finally bought the lanterns:

I got a large red star one; a large red reindeer one, and a small cream angel one for £11.
Debenhams do a very similar one for £10 (£8 in the sale) http://www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10001_10001_304029641582_-1?breadcrumb=Home%7EHome+accessories%7ELanterns0 -
I have been lurking around reading all your wonderfull ideas and bargain finds for the last month or so and think its time I join in.
I adore Christmas - the only thing stopping me putting the christmas tree up now is the grief I would get from my OH - roll on the 1st of December!
I am pretty much organised and have been picking up bargains for the last 3 months, and now only have 2 people left to buy for! I saw the picture of someone's red mixed wrapping paper from M&S with the stickers on them and was so impressed with how they looked I went and got it yesterday and I am so pleased I did, even saying so myself I think they look great.
So, Friday I am off to the Trafford Center in Manchester to finish of my shopping and enjoy a couple of festive mince pies and Coffees to keep me going.
But first I am going to the Christmas Factory (basically a big discount warehouse of all things Christmasy) with my SIL and my children. Hopefully my OH wont be to upset when he sees a massive light up reindeer on the front lawn!! :j
Where is this Christmas Factory you talk of... ?? I'm guessing in the north west as you are visiting the Trafford Centre? But I've never heard of it?0
