I'm pretty much a lurker here and love reading about all your Christmassy things, and my thoughts go out to those of you having tough times or disappointments.
I just wanted to ask if anyone has had a stall at a small Christmas market or fair before?
I have my first one ever in a couple of weeks and I'm so nervous about it . Only a really small affair (10 tables in a village hall in the sticks) but I just can't get over the fear of people 'handling' my craftings and pulling a face if they don't like them
I've sold lots to people where I work, but it's different when selling face to face with unknowns!
Also really worried that no one will turn up, suppose that's beyond my control though.
Does anyone have any words of wisdom??
I have never done a fair, but I understand exactly how you feel. As you said people turning up is out of you control. I very much doubt people will pull faces at your crafts. Put some pics on here and we will tell you what we think. As you said, you have sold bits before, so you know it is sellable .
Where is the fair ? There are a few of us in Essex. If you are close, someone off here may like to go.0 -

They have flower and vegetable seeds.
Thanks OMO, I can get to a Range so i'll check it out! I also managed to go back and look at your pics last night, you're doing great! I quite like doing crafty things, but they never quite seem to turn out as I imagine!I spoke to DS tonight about elves. I told him they make toys. Thought he'd get excited, but when I said they sometimes get into mischief by eating biscuits , he told me he hopes they don't come to our house and eat all the biscuits. Oh dear...
:rotfl: Hopefully once he meets the elf he won't mind sharing! Not sure if anyone has the Avon book delivered. I've had mine this evening and there's a little sale book with it. There's snowflake shaped bath bombs reduced to £0.89 each. Perfect if anyone's doing a beauty hamper I was thinking.
Hmm I just had two Avon books from my rep and they weren't in there! Perhaps i'm behind you and they will be in the next one I get. Thanks for the heads up.
Sorry to hear you didn't get the job aliaslotte, but as people say on here keep your chin up, the right job will be out there for you somewhere. I like to think things happen for a reason and this obviously wasn't the right job for you really.
Chirpychick that dressing gown and bootees for the little one is really cute! It must be so exciting being able to get little things like that.
My bank charge fiasco was sweetened a little yesterday when I logged in to my MutualPoints account and realised I could cash in and get £55! I've redeemed my points so I can keep up the Christmas shopping. My OH and I also took out house insurance when we moved and received £40 worth of M&S vouchers through the post which we didn't realise we'd get! They must have had a promotion on. :T0 -
Woohoo got some of that ribbon from Hobbycraft :j
Today I am off to buy our stockings.
Do you wrap the things you put in the stockings or just put them straight in?13 projects in 2013 0/130 -

Seasons greetings! My Christmas is well on its way and wrapped, just need to find gifts for those more tricky people!
For those making hampers, Lidl are selling their clear and patterned cellophane film for 99p from next Thursday (plain 10m and patterned 5m). Time to stock up :j0 -
Got the only Chrstmas tree mould left in Poundland last night, actually supposed to be ice cubes, but hey, can make chocolate trees. Think I will "decorate" them, any suggestions on what I can use? I have small smarties cake decorations, but think they may be just a little bit too bigA smile costs little but creates much0

We wrap stocking presents maybe not chocolates though, depends on how the wrapper is feeling0 -
Ameyturtle-Love the let it snow sign! Have fun shopping.
ReformedShopaholic- I wrap everything in the stocking except for the choc coins (which I empty from the net and have loose at the bottom) drink, crisps, cracker and fruit. (tradition from when I was a child to have all of those!)
popularfurball-The apron and peg bag are truly beautiful!Your mum will love them, you are very clever.
Have arranged a christmas shopping trip with my brother in on December 15th. :j Going to take him on his first trip to Home Bargains!'They only had one cow!'0
