Yeay there are more of you out there who plan early for christmas
I brought lots presents in the Boots Sale this year when they were marked down by 75%! I've learnt from previous years where I've wrapped the gifts up, written the tag but then totally forgotten what the gift was. Its a bit embarrasing when you look as surprised as the person opening the present! So this year I've taken photos of the presents before I've wrapped them.
We're ploughing our way through 5 Morrison saver stamp books. We give my parents-in-law a book of £100 and keep the rest for ourselves. We don't spend them all at Christmas but keep a couple for the New Year when things generally seem a bit flat.
I brought some mixed dried fruit and glace cherries in the sale which are all best before September 2012 so I'll be making my very first Christmas Cake in September and feeding it alcohol till Christmas-Slimming World Challenge

Hi everyone
kaymumof3, I was in £1 Land today and picked up some of those bags, they looked festive with the red ties. I also got the 10 pack of bubbles for a £1 for my party boxes and the 18 pack of blowers. I also picked up some socks.
Was walking past a store Chainstore Bargains and seen good quality winter coats reduced from £50 to £5.99 so had to have one for DD, I paid £45 for one for her for xmas:T:T
corrag - i love the boots sale, I save points all year for it....

Stick with us Possession we are all aiming to have a fabulous Christmas even tho money is a bit tighter for most of us than it has been:( With starting to organise early December won't be daunting:) Promise.
Picked two of my Christmas presents up from tesco today(bargains I spotted on the board) and another arrived in the post.
It sounds like there are pros and cons to my loft idea - I'm putting it on hold til we come back from our hols, when serious organisation of my stash will be required.(going in two weeks so not long to wait)
Must pop into £shops sounds like good finds ladies:)

Good Morning to all you fellow Christmas lovers.
I have been reading all your posts and am now sooooo excited I can say the 'c' word!!
I love Christmas always have and always will.
I have a son 6 and daughter 3 so Christmas is always special here at our and I am always on the look out through out the year for bots and bobs, much to the annoyance of my partner!! He doesnt understand how I can think about it before December, but thats a man thing is it? Or are they any men here?
I have a few stocking fillers from the January sales, and some bits that will be used for our Christmas Elves, Patch & Holly, the kids loved these last year so I have a list on the go for new things for them to get up too.
I have just downloaded an app on my phone for christmas, now I can keep my Christmas note book safe at home and add stuff to that
:xmastree:Love this thread thank you:xmastree:0 -
Definitely, definitely, write everything down that you buy/make. It's the only way to avoid *ahem* "forgetting" certain presents' existence.
I'm keeping an eye out on Approved Foods too - last year I bought a catering sized pack of ground almonds and it made a job lot of lovely Italian cookies which went down a treat in the hampers and really didn't cost very much.
Can someone remind me closer to the time though that I really DON'T need paper or cards this year?!0 -
I was lurking on here but have has to de-lurk to ask curiouscrafter to tell me what the app is!
I bought all my teacher presents this week, I got candy cane yankee candle holders reduced to £1 each and Christmas yankee candle samplers for £1 each too. I bought 15 sets so £30 but paid with paypal so money neutral as it was from things i had sold. That should cover school, clubs, elderly neighbors who sometimes pop in for a drink and a few left over for emergency presents!DFW NERD NO.656 DEBT FREE 24TH NOVEMBER 2010 TOTAL DEBT AUGUST 2007 £39000MFiT T2 NO.56 WE OWN [STRIKE]25%[/STRIKE] 31.5% OF OUR HOUSE SO FAR!0 -
hello all you fellow christmas nuts :santa2:
i always buy throughout the year to ensure the best bargains, especially for my own kids.
so far i have got my eldest sons main present which is a nintendo wii and game for £7.47:D! (from trading in all my husbands old ps3 games, which would otherwise sit in a drawer never to be used again) i have also got him the grim reaper stretch screamer (not sure if anyof you have heard of them) that was £4.50 down from £20
a couple of years ago we bought our dd a dolls house and painted it pink and white. i have just bought a set of three shops which is already painted and comes with the shop accessories (bakery, florist and something else)and people. i got that for £11.odd down from £44
i have also got her a bead box too.
i have been picking up kids dvds cheap too and i plan to buy the kids each a storage box and fill with dvds for them as we often have a 'movie night' at the weekend.
i also have a few random bits and bobs that i have picked up for family members.
this year i plan on getting the advent calendars with the drawers and for the eldest ds i am planning on filling with the lego minifigures (ive already picked 6 up for 50p each as they were from an older series, but he hasnt a clue theres series!! and hotwheels vehicles.
for dd i think it will be hair accessories and jewellery, maybe a couple of nail polishes.
but for youngest ds who will be 19months at xmas i cant think what i can do that will be small enough to fit in the drawers, but big enough that he wont swallow them! any ideas anyone?Mummy to ds 29/12/06 dd 10/2/08 ds 25/5/11:Amy angel born too soon 18/11/12, always with me Emmie Faith:A15 projects in 2015 10/15completed0 -
forgot to say i am also filling up morrisons savers stamps cards to make the shopping easier over the festive period as i always go overboard! i have £44 on that so far, but would like 3x £50 if i can so i can spread the shopping out.
i am saving up my boots and nectar points towards the kids xmas eve hampers
and im saving my tesco clubcard points in the hope that they will do a double up again, hopefully on toys as i will buy my younger niece and nephews presents or on cds/dvds to get my older niece and nephews gifts.
and finally i am saving money in a sealed pot for activities over xmas such as panto etc i reckon i have about £80 in there so far.Mummy to ds 29/12/06 dd 10/2/08 ds 25/5/11:Amy angel born too soon 18/11/12, always with me Emmie Faith:A15 projects in 2015 10/15completed0 -
