ooohhhh savvy. it's a bit early for that lol.

I been out today and had a look at the tesco sales to see if there was anything around. had a lovely magnifying glass on a keyring, save him getting his glasses out of his pocket. be great for oh stocking at 50p it can't be bad.

did notice they had lots of Tshirts at £2 be great for people who are on a budget . and you can get an whole outfit. long sleeve shirt, trousers for under £5 for teens/ kids.

I tend to buy. a couple of sizes bigger in case they grow and if they don't it's ready for when they do grow:-)

they're seeking all the hat scarf and gloves off too ...

Brilliant thanks, that should certainly stop any more confusion......Happy Christmas to you all ;)

    Happy Christmas ;)

You may wish to look in Tesco's like Susan said as ours is selling off some Christmas stuff, there's paper chains (rip off at £2.50! 'sale price'!), sparklers (50p for 3 tubes of indoor sparkles - 10 in a tube for that's 30 for 50p!), wrapping paper (I bought all the birthday ones as there's never any birthday wrap in this house. Christmas wrap we have hundreds of. Birthday wrap - none!), gift tags, cards, all sorts! Ours is spread out in 2 places, 1 a full clearance aisle and the other at the end with party bits. Hopefully it's nationwide:

The stickers are foil holographic message stickers like 'best wishes' or 'best friend' with pics of balloons etc. They're 50p each scanning at a pound so you get DTD back :)

Thank for the heads up at tesco Gleek, I'm heading off there hopefully Thursday to pick my direct order up hoping they'll have some bits left! I did get wrapping paper sets (Christmas ) a couple of weeks ago even tho I've probably enough for this year:) I also picked similar sparkler sets up in sainsburys a while ago couldn't believe they were so cheap!

I've had a brainwave to solve my last minute wrapping away from little eyes problem. I'm hoping (DH willing) to wrap and put up in the loft once I've got a person finished. What do you think? Will my wrapped presents be ok up there?

Chirpychick that's what we are all here for,to help each other along and of course chatter with Christmas excitement! Im not sure if there is a section on here for Mums and Dads to be but I bet there is. It'd be worth taking a look at that. My DGDs are 29months and 15months and I know for sure that a lot of what you think you'll need you really don't need or won't use. I'm no expert but there will be lovelies on here that are:)

Kaymumof3 have you looked at Susan42 blog? She's used plastic test tubes for her reindeer food and they look fab. I bought poly cone bags on eBay last year for snowman soup etc. (must add ran out of time so didn't make them- hope to this year) They worked out much cheaper than the disposable icing bags. HTH
Hope I've not missed anybody. Jingle all the way:)

Providing everything is safe and secure (guttering/tiles etc) should hopefully be okay :D I would perhaps put the in a little tub or box or something to keep them all together.

I might be sorting things around in bedrooms today but i'm still planning Christmas in my head as I go :rotfl:

OOoooo!!! Thank you thank you thank you for starting this thread - I am the only person I know who thinks about and plans Christmas all year. My colleagues especially think that I am mad. :rudolf:

I'm relieved to see already that others have some very realistic limits for spending on family and friends and will be interested to see how the budgets work.

I try to do some home-made (rather than specifically crafty) pressies such as a hamper with homemade jam, marmalade, cherries in brandy etc or a plant / tree which I have bought on all summer and wrapped in fancy celophane with a big bow and hand-printed tag. Hubby made several big Christmas cakes last year which we then cut into smaller cakes, decorated and wrapped (like the plants - my standard wrapping!).

Any more easy ideas for making or bargain buys would be great......and yes, bring on the snow :snow_grin and plenty of Christmas natter!!
  • Thanks Susan - I am getting excited but crossing my fingers too!

It's all Gleek's fault though, I just brought hubby a Marvel T shirt & an Animal T shirt from A$da (£7 each) he is a 3xl so they don't normally have them in stock for long and i got a surprise cheque in the post today so I thought s0d it and they can go in his Christmas "box".

He does love those t shirts from A$da and they seem to wash well and last a long time.

I must plan for the rest of the family.

    I have
Hubby (got £33.05 left to spend we set a max budget of £50)
Bubba (just going to get a couple of bits for the stocking budget £20)
    Nan1 : No clue (budget £5)
Grandad1: Would like to get cardigan but budget is £5
Dad & wife: No clue (budget £10)
    Mum & bf : " "
MIL & FIL: ditto but budget of £20
Niece age 13: no clue £5 budget
Nephew age 9: no clue £5 budget - maybe something chelsea related
Goddaughter age 5: no clue £5 budget

BIL & SIL: Photo of baby
    Grandparents 2: Photo of baby

Everyone knows how tight money is and how much more tight it will be after a baby so hence very small budgets. If anyone has any suggestions at all feel free to share, im notoriously bad at gifts!

p.s love the christmas survival kits!

You can do fab bits personalised on vistaprint make fab budget gifts especially with pics of babies etc, but start soon so you can grab all the free mugs and tshirts pens and canvas bags offers orrrrrrrr just use multiple email adresses lol even our dog can type x

Gleek thanks for the heads up, I`m off to a different tescos tomorrow so I`ll have a look , were the things in a particular part of the shop?:o

I just made one of these for friends sons 18th birthday

    Sweet tree

I was impressed how easy it was and comes in less than £8. I think with some further investigations and stocking up on sweets at good prices I can make some more.:D

Nanamia - everything sound be ok in the loft. Dont do what I do though, forget its up there and find things the following year. I `ve ctually done that two separate years

Hi icemice - welcome, I think your mates are mad...lol Its so much fun planning all year around...we`re the normal ones (or real people) as Martin says :-)
