    Oh my Word

Remember my idea for the advent.

    Glueing pegs to a blackboard.

Well this is not exactly the same, but the principle is the same.

Just found this in the Prima Mag that came out YESTERDAY

I am so ahead of my time :rotfl:

  • Anyone looking for DVDs for children's hampers... There is a post in the grabbit forum for a Disney Box set (3 discs) for £5 from Sainsburys. Free postage. £9 on amazon.
  • Wow....the pages are certainly flying!

Welcome to more newbies I'm sure you will love it here; it's simply the friendliest on the forums:)

Thanks Nanamia; tried to give up before but never manage more than a day or two. The new patches seem to be lots better plus have saved a fortune which has allowed me to spend more on presents!

Thanks to OwnMyOwn for the info on ASD... must be hard trying to see the world through his eyes. I wondered if he would like Warhammer? It's a strategy game played with figures and dice/ lots of very complicated rules too! I know the local club has quite a few players with ASD; they enjoy the strict rules as everything is literally black and white. It can be a great hobby - my DS used to go - I loved it...never ran out of things to buy him as presents...just wish he'd get another hobby like that:rotfl:

Popularfurball - absolutley love the games for your Nan and I'm sure you will all enjoy playing them together as a family

Chirpychick- thanks for the heads up about the new thread...I'll difinitely be watching with interest (ready for next year!)

Pips Mum - loving the idea of the 12 gifts; that is so clever - and will be stealing it for DD/ DS and partners for next year as already told them they will be getting joint presents!

I'm so enjoying my holiday....today I've wrapped loads more presents (two hampers worth) and DD and I decorated ready for Halloween ...all the family together tomorrow ...lots of pizza (mine is a weight watchers:rotfl:) and plenty of games:T
    Stopped smoking 20th October 2012 :D

This year I will have something that resembles a garden and not a building site!

Sometimes I swear you and I must be related!

This is my ultimate favourite from childhood

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/All-I-Want-Christmas-DVD/dp/B0002W10RS/ref=sr_1_13?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1347319128&sr=1-13

    my 2nd favourite

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Scrooged-DVD-Bill-Murray/dp/B0000505H0/ref=sr_1_57?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1347319244&sr=1-57

this is a film that i discovered last year or the year before.
it is quite bad in effects and it is dubbed :o but it is such a beautiful story! So it is going on top of my list

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Christmas-Story-DVD-Hannu-Pekka-Bjorkman/dp/B002IEVLCM/ref=sr_1_82?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1347319289&sr=1-82

another childhood one - though i don't seem to enjoy it much now as an adult for some reason but it was my favourite for so many years it keeps a space at the top

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Santa-Claus-Movie-Dudley-Moore/dp/B0002W1ACI/ref=sr_1_97?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1347319515&sr=1-97

if you can play region 1 DVD's then this is a lovely story!

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Christmas-Card-DVD-Region-NTSC/dp/B000TGUUFA/ref=sr_1_1?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1347319759&sr=1-1

can you or anyone else recommend any?? There are 2 other films which I adore and were on one of the Christmas channels last year but I don't remember the names, if I do will add them to the list.

(p.s our special sky offer ends in November, we have said we will keep Sky for Christmas/New Year for the soul purpose of Christmas 24 which I believe was actually a "free" movie channel last year and the year before but then it is going as we wont be able to afford it so I completely feel your pain!)

the film i love at christmas is santa and pete
family mean more to me than money it's call a life

do you think if i used silicone bun/cup cake cases to make chocolate shapes it would work , nothing too fancy i thought about putting ''hundreds and thousands'' in the bottom then pouring a little melted chocolate over them .

I can't remember if it was this thread or somewhere else so apologies if it wasn't one of you guys... The Sylvanian Regency Hotel is half price at Argos 54.99. Or at Smyths you can get Cedar cottage figures furniture and a car for 49.99. All the details on the Grabbit board.

That would be fine. I would put the h&t on the top if you want them to stand out. They will disappear if put on the bottom of milk chocolate. If you are using white chocolate you can put them at the bottom, the colour from them runs slightly, which makes a nice effect in the pale colour.:D

i was going to put them on Ebay as i don't like them for cake making but all the talk about making chocolate got me thinking .
