Good Evening everyone. I only started reading this thread recently when someone mentioned it on another forum. I was in HomeBargains today and came across some Christmas Plush gift bags for 79p. They are about 8ins wide by 9 and a half ins long. The one i bought is light blue with red handles and the word joy in different coloured letters on it and a couple of stars. In the middle is a snowman with a bobble hat on and a scarf. The snowman has an actual padded face proper hat and scarf not just a picture of one if you get my meaning. Bargain i thought. Wont hold too much but nice for babies and children with a few small things in.:)
  • I cannot believe that - some people have no subtlety do they?!

I was already overweight when I got pregnant and so have experienced all sorts of biased about my weight throughout. I have put on approx 1st in total now with 4 weeks and 5 days to go i really am hoping that is all baby - but I have a lot of work to do anyway regardless when he is born.
My hubby's brother and dad have both just been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes (just found out this afternoon) hubby is having an unrelated dr appointment on wednesday and will be asking to be tested too (him and his brother are very similar in size and only 2 years age gap) as they have all 3 had the same operation this year already for something else completely unrelated i feel like he is bound to get diabetes too, so i have told him that the healthy lifestyle starts tomorrow, not just for his sake and possibly having diabetes or an increased risk but for our little boys sake too. We don't want to lead him into our unhealthy lifestyle. We said if we work on it now, by the time the baby is 1 we could be a few stone lighter, healthier, fitter and he wont have fat parents! So im on a mission. (obviously I wont diet until the baby is born!)

Im wondering if to make the BIL a diabetes hamper with some books or something? I've yet to get his birthday present (22nd Dec) any suggestions?

Its great you both want to do it otgether, it makes it so much easier, I went up 2 dress sizes after my 2, and decided not to do anything untill I had stopped breastfeeding..plus a few months..and i managed to loose 1 1/2 st in just 16 weeks through slimming world..OK i know I didnt need to loose that much weight, but I found that SW was fab as it was more concerned with you eating properly, with fresh food and to cook from scratch which in my opinion is the best you can do for yourself, partner and children.
Sorry don't mean to sound like im preaching, but i was not particularly keen on joining SW when i first went with my mum, I didnt like the idea of the whole american whole class clapping when you lost weight, but once i got over that i actually found it great. one lady in our group lost 6st in 16 months!! but this is just my opinoin, but i would recommend it to anyone. The most important thing about any weightloss is that you must be commited 100%..if your not you are only sabotaging your own hard work (god i sound like my consultant!!)
With your reasons behind wating to do it though sounds like you are very determined xx

also i would go for these, as i remember you said your daughter commented on the blue eyes of santa and the heart in the tree..you will be able to get a sleigh and reindeer from somewhere else, these 2 things seam to be the things she remembered and concentrated on most http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Elc-Rosebud-Christmas-Set-Tree-Santa-Etc-/251172965975?pt=UK_Toys_Creative_Educational_RL&hash=item3a7b134e57&_uhb=1

  • B&M's are doing a 'Twelve Days of Christmas' beer....might be a nice touch for the men in your life?

Went browsing in town today ;) Really pleased...bought DGS 'Twas the Night Before Christmas' book for just 79p in H&B... it's always been a tradition to read it on Christmas Eve with my own children and now DD wants to carry it on...well chuffed ! :)
    Stopped smoking 20th October 2012 :D

This year I will have something that resembles a garden and not a building site!

  • The Mr T's near me had sets of 3 storage boxes (choice of orange or green) for 49p and 50p. I tend to wrap them in Christmas paper so wasn't concerned about the bright colours and bought a set of each. Also find them great for storing bits around the house. Perfect for my LO's socks, shoes, bibs, muslins etc...hope that helps someone :)

  • I posted a while ago with every intention of popping in regularly but work has just been so busy....I have had a quick skim read when I can though, so congratulations to anyone with new additions to their families, and best wishes & hugs to anyone who needs them. My "thanks" button seems to have gone awol, but I will make up for it when it returns!

I just wanted to show you this cute chap I brought in Card Factory yesterday; I thought he'd go nicely with the adopt a reindeer gifts.

He was £1.99, they had penguins and santa too; also some nice Christmas hand puppets.
