hi long time lurker here but I think it is now time to stop lurking!

this is a fab thread and everyone seems so friendly.

I have a long list of things to make for Christmas but need to actually get started.

I love the chocolate sleighs and am planning to make them for my two boys and my friend's 3 boys. is the pic of the sleighs in this thread or another one? Daft question time - are people making two sizes of sleigh, one with kit kat on the bottom and one with a big chocolate bar? Are there also two sizes of candy cane?

I love the reindeer cardi from Matalan - I will have to start working on OH!

I want to buy onesies for OH and the boys and might get to primark but if not mr T sells them for a couple of pounds more. OH went to primark in Newcastle and said it is complete chaos as there are refurbishing the store - he got out as quick as he could!

congratulations to all those with newborn babies. Big hugs to all those who need them.

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Hello all!

Looks like I've got about 10 pages to catch up on. Whoever suggested we should guess the number of pages by Christmas eve - I'm going for 1350. I always seem to have at least 10 pages to catch up if I miss a day or two and I think as we get closer to the big day, more people will join and more people will post more.

My sis has blagged an invite to mum and dad's Christmas day so now the pressure's on me to decide if we're joining them all. Personally, I don't want to spend all day there as a) my sis and neices would drive me potty after a few hours b) DH would have to drive so he'd have to experience point "a" sober c) I'd kind of like to have a bit of time just the 2 of us.

Alos still don't know what his side of family have planned. We've been to SIL's for the past few but I don't want it to become "tradition" or for her to think that she has to. FIL will be away at Xmas so I've suggested to DH we have his mum and younger sisters over for a late Christmas lunch so we can all visit his oldest sis in the morn and visit my lot for a few hours too.

Gosh, I'm rabbitting on, I've got pages to catch up on yet :)

    Welcome bunbun2 Merry Delurk :snow_laug

I have never made a sleigh. But someone will read it and let you know later.
  • I went to my local Disney store today. They had the character dolls reduced from £20 to £15. I had already bought DD2 a Tangeled one but bought DD1 a Brave one. Also Clintons had some Yankee Candels on offer at 25% off as well.
  • Hi spacecadet1 I don't know whether these would be any good for...

I can't post a link :( but if you go on Etsy and search 'Lego slippers' there is some lovely Lego inspired knitted slippers :)

Thanks, will have a look at what size the biggest size on there is in comparison to the shoe size I'd need.

I think with the chocolate Sleigh idea its really up to you!

Kit Kats will make smaller sleighs and limits the chocs you can place on top because of size however they are great for table gifts.

Larger bars of choc allow for much more to be placed on top and are a great gift/alternative to a selection box!

Additional touches are small father christmas' on the front of the sleigh and a Lindt/Aldi Reindeer.

If you google chocolate candy bar sleigh there are some pics there and check out pinterest but warning you will get addicted. :xmassmile:snow_laug

thanks! I will have a look. I think I will make the bigger ones for presents and the smaller ones for the table. We are staying at home just the 4 of us on Christmas day and travelling down south 26/27th.
