Head Above Water - Love the Santa cancelling Christmas sketch!
Own My Own - Sorry your dad said that to you, your heart must have sank! I would still go ahead and give it to him, I know he can buy what he wants but at least it's something useful he will use instead of being left for no good. Also thank you so much for taking the time to go through the whole thread and save all of the links, really appreciate it and the new thread is going to be fab next year!
kez_s - glad you had a good birthday!
cornishorchid - you are completely doing the right thing for your children by banning the dog, their safety comes first. Your MIL (was it MIL? Sorry read it a little while ago!) know's she's welcome so it is her decision and you shouldn't feel bad about it.
my3girls - sorry to hear your daughter has to have an operation, I wish you guys lots of luck and hope that you're all ok and able to enjoy Christmas together without this getting in the way.
tab1967 - Oscar is lovely! I hope you're better now and enjoying lots of cuddles!! :T
Ameyturtle - glad to hear your first day went well and what a bonus getting Christmas treats to try! :T
Sugarspun - I'm so sorry to hear about your aunt, how sad for you. I hope you manage to work out the logistics of the funeral and get through it with lots of strength.
nic2075 - also really sorry to hear about your loss, wishing you lots of stregth too.
*Twinkle* - good luck with having your new baby tomorrow!! Exciting times! Can't wait for the report back.
emalou88 - your home-made pressies for next year sound fab! I love that you're organising this already! There are lots of Christmas crafts i'd like to be doing now but as i'm getting married in March i'm busy doing all of the crafts for that so I might start planning for next year too!
Vintage Queen - I LOVE the Coca Cola bottles! I'm doing 6 film hampers so these would be perfect! I wonder where would stock them? I've never seen them before.0 -
SugarSpun - when my parents died I wrote both of them a card with all the things I never said, or wanted to say in it. I then sealed it and took it to the funeral home and made sure it went with them. Could you arrange to do something similar with your Christmas card?0

She replied laughing that she thinks they all left them at her house and she had to throw them out!!!!!!!
Anyhow other people really appreciated the gifts I made, my other sister still raves about the hamper I made for her last year and she is even going to make one for a friend this year. My kids and mum also love the handmade gifts!!! :T
So do not despair, keep making and someone will like them!! And this year I will make more gifts for my big sis and her family and keep on doing so until they start to appreciate the finer things in life and the kindness, time and love that goes behind homemade gifts!!!!:rotfl::rudolf:
:T:T:T well said, could not agree more! and anyone who throws out a homemade gift is missing the spirit and the love that has gone into it, which is a real shame for them, after all
that is what Christmas is all about! xx0 -
Im shocked your sister told you that! I dont mean to offend but I assume tact isn't one of her strong points
If i receive a gift i dont like, i smile and keep quiet! Oh well, persevere - I would be very happy to receive a hamper
Btw, I am watching Disney's A Christmas Carolx
I thought the same, if somebody gives me something I dont like or won't use, I would never let on, I'd still thank them very much and would appreciate the thought and effort, especially if it was homemade! I think it's really about consideration and kindness, it seems a bit unkind and hurtful to me to say something like that really, surely saying nothing or 'all that effort you went to was really appreciated' would have been better :cool:0 -

Is this what you are looking for?“I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.”

Hi
First time i have seen the macaroon tree & loving it!
Was thinking of making one myself :-) trying to be MSE n'all!
Fill a cake stand with green macaroons & put a star or something at the top? Struggling for ideas :-)
Help would be appreciated.. Or tell me if its a silly idea & would be easier to buy one!
