It was me thank you so much xxxx . All the plastic ones come with extra play things and make beeps and noises. But I love the wooden ones, hope she does too. She is only little, so I want her to use her imagination and realise not everything has to flash, speak or make a noise. Hope that's not too old fashioned?

I have few pages to go and catch up on. But our Christmas eve films are always Santa Clause the Movie and Polar express. The kids love them both. Elf and Muppets Christmas carol usually gets watche during December.
I got them one from Asda last year, it was only £4, called The littlest light on the Christmas tree, the kids adore it. It's another feel good film.

A lot more expensive but so cute http://www.tesco.com/direct/little-tikes-premium-wooden-kitchen/201-5663.prd

I love reading this thread :) I like Christmas and I like to be organised but not in the same league as most of you on here:eek:Ours is a quiet low key affair and we will not be putting up ( real) tree until school finishes.............about the 21st Dec. I have always preferred wooden toys to plastic noisy things and have been known to remove batteries from things that where given to our children from friends and family who didnt knoiw us well. Now are children are older we only but presents for them and we have a secret santa at our work places and one amongst our circle of closest friends - and this has to be homemade :) We dont buy presents for each other. Sounds all a bit mean spirited but its partly through finances and the dislike of the commercialism that is now part of Christmas. We eat well and our children get great presents which I buy through out the year. Our favourite films at Chritmas now, are Flint Street Nativity and Nativity similar theme but we love 'em :) Polar express also a favourite

My daughter, her husband and two boys will not be spending Christmas with us and I am putting together a Christmas Eve Hamper to feel part of their Christmas.

So far I have: a pair of JoJomamanbebe cosy tartan pjs for the boys (3 and a half and 17 months old). A Harrods bear each (thanks to the Harrods offer earlier), a bottle of Harvey's Bristol Cream for my daughter (she loves it, like me), a couple of bottles of beer for her husband. A Barney's Christmas 3DVD set.

Struggling now with what else to include. Might use some of my Body Shop bath stuff (from another offer earlier on), some chocolates.

I thought of maybe putting in some marshmallows to toast but they are so worried about those because of a local tragedy involving a child choking on a small marshmallow in a restaurant so I will leave those out.

Any other ideas would be welcome. I intend to use one of the medium sized plastic trug things.

Hi everyone, I have not posted for a while but have been reading everyones posts. Everyone is doing so well with their planning. I am on hold at the moment until next payday and also my DIL has gone into labour with my first grandchild, im so excited.
I see people are really into christmas jumpers this year, the Tesco christmas gift guide had some lovely mens jumpers, a bit more expensive than Primark at £16 but if you have any clubcard vouchers they do look lovely. Sadly no ladies or childrens that I could see.

Hi everyone sorry I haven't been on much having a pretty rough time ATM, anywhoos......

Congrats wbdf - love the name!!

I went to Costco yesterday and was in Xmas heaven!! They had LOADS of xmassy things and lots of tos etc really good price.

Kid craft mansion and large wooden kitchen both heavily reduced (think around £70)

Innotab 2 and charger less than £60

Giant cuddly Rudolph (same Rudolph as the monopoly lol with light up nose - did take a pic of this but no idea how to upload from my phone!)

Gorgeous wooden advent calendars with little ornaments in each window to hang around the calendar, gorgeous wooden nutcracker decorations, Xmas ribbons, wrapping etc etc

Wish I was feeling it more lol as I only bought washing powder and baby wipes :-s

Plus note I've ordered a few things from mothercare, they all were between 20 and 50% off and an additional 20% code worked on top of this, got dd3 the dollhouse and some furniture at a very good price

    Hope everyone is well

i agree with you on this. that's not to say my LO doesn't have beepy whizzy things - but his favourite things to play with right now are a mixing bowl and spoon which he stirs like a mad person, then puts the bowl in the 'oven' (bottom shelf of bookcase :rotfl:)

maybe he doesn't need the play kitchen after all!! :o

Oh yes, I've seen them on their website! I think they had little videos of them in action. Insane, but very cool.
