Now just need to find some foam for a matteress for the dolls crib - anyone know of some cheap foam?
What about asking on freecycle for a foam cot mattress or mosesbasket mattress and cutting it to size? Or looking on ebay for any near you that you could collect? (some have gone unsold near me recently for 99p)

BBTHREE-I really hope you and Nanamia manage to have your meet at Bents. :j

chirpychick-My OH gets it too lol, he was pointing out things to put in shoeboxes today in Asda lol.

Theres going to be so many christmassy babies! So exciting!! :j
You all got some lovely stuff with the ebay code. :T I went shopping today for food but ended up getting a few bargains!
2 x nerf guns (sharp shot?) £2.50 each asda
2 x HM Armed forces planes £2.50 each tesco
Babies triangle activity cube £3.32 asda (originally £7ish and on 2 for £10)
    Various reduced stationery for shoeboxes

So that should be my brothers birthday sorted (middle of december) and also getting there with my shoeboxes. The date to get them in by is usually around the 18th december so need to be organised with them. Will never forget the year I done 6 shoeboxes, was really pleased with them then didnt have the £2.50 each needed towards postage! I was SO gutted, I gave all the stuff to a local womens refuge in the end so it didnt go to waste. I have had some people say since that they will take the shoeboxes even without postage as I suppose they'd rather them without postage money than not at all but didnt even think to ask back then. Anywaaay lol will hopefully have them done by the end of october. :)

pick and choose for relevant age range

    bubble bath
    flannel or sponge
    hot chocolate (aka snowman soup)
    tooth brush
    christmas book
    slippers
    chocolate/popcorn

(idea being have a bubble bath, watch a film with some goodies,
brush their teeth, have a story and go to bed relaxed to give mum and dad some
time and peace ;) to wrap presents)

    a snuggle christmas fleece
a new mug for the hot chocolate
a christmas teddy like a reindeer or something
    reindeer food (the glittery kind)
    reindeer poop

    *******************

I so agree with this, ours turns up on everyone's pillow just after lunch (amazingly I always need someone to get something from their room after we have eaten), so a craft to do in the afternoon, a book, sometimes some ingredients to make cookies, bubble bath (usually a lush bubble bar), toothbrush, toothpaste, pj's (Asda had a onesie in yesterday for £5 will be £8 - but DD word that last night!)

We also have reindeer food (coloured sugar not glitter as bad for the birds), a torch (so you can go out to do the food), we have had a sky lantern in one year, Christmas cups go in every year, hot chocolate or a carton drink (these go in stockings as well).

Most of ours are now done but all my extended family expect us to chose the boys presents, buy them and wrap them so they can take the credit for them on the big day

Ooh, the cheeky so and sos. Where's the fun in that for them? I always ask people what their kids want but always buy/wrap/deliver myself! :D

me again :)can anyone give some suggestions on xmas eve hampers, i have 4 to make, 3 neices and dd ( dont need help wiv her tho )

    neice 1 - aged 8

    12 dogs of xmas DVD - £2
    Xmas Socks - £1
Some kind of xmas making set - £1

    neice 2 - aged 2 & half

    Cebeebies xmas dvd -£2
    xmas socks - £1
Some kind of xmas making set - £1

    neice 3 - 15 months

    Xmas socks £1

I like to keep each one £10 roughly so i cant really put in Pjs, they already have xmas plate & santa stop here signs from last year! poor neice 3 doesnt have much yet!!, i have to try and keep the youngest 2 similar because the older one of the 2 gets jeleous

    ideas welcome :)

You might be able to get pjs really cheap, maybe Matalano or Primarni? How about a christmassy fleece, storybook to read before bedtime, a little bag of "rudolph food" to put out (is that what it's called when you mix oats and glitter together? I'm sure I read about it last year - it's something along those lines) little soft toy, paper and pencils to make a note/picture to leave for Santa. I'm not sure really, I have cats instead of kids, they're so much easier :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
  • Well, I've finally finished my present buying. Spent more than expected but I'm just relieved that it's all done. No wrapping to do either as I'm putting them all in bags. They are all together in my Christmas room ready to be sellotaped up and sent to the recipients when they think it's appropriate (which isn't usually until at least December).

Only need to do my cards now :j

Thanks to whoever mentioned the John Lewis LED wooden church much earlier in the thread - mine arrived this week and is going to look lovely on my fireplace.

  • Afternoon everyone,

right today I remembered to look in WH Smith. The book set is :
The magic of Christmas (Trisha Ashley)
    The perfect Christmas (Georgie Carter)
Fairy Tale of New York (Miranda Dickinson)

Not sure what they are about as I could only see them in the window. Price is £5, haven't checked Amazon or anywhere to check if cheaper anywhere else (just home from work and realised I have 5 pages of this thread to catch up on:eek:)
