Many years ago, I phoned my best friend on Christmas day at about 11, and asked her, if the boys had liked the football table. The line went silent, then suddenly at the top of her vioce she screamed,' FOOTBALL TABLE, I BLOODY KNEW THERE WAS SOMETHING MISSING, IT'S STILL UNDER THE BED !' Then the line went dead:rotfl: (It was only their main gift):eek:so i have NEVER EVER finished my xmas shopping before december, but am recently self employed now so dont have as much free time to wonder round (frantically race around) the shops this year, there is a part of me that thinks, if your not shopping in december what do you dooo ( as i do love a good nosy round the shops!) i suppose you all get to enjoy xmas dvds and cosy nights in ect? i guess im a little worried il take the fun out of the build up by not having to shop? that sounds weird me saying that. ps, we do have DD who is 3, bt she doesnt understand xmas, as she has special needs.
I suffer with claustrophobia, and can't do my shopping in December. I always go to the shops or a Christmas Market, but I feel better knowing I can leave when I want.
We went to Lakeside once, and I looked round 4 shops while a friend queued in Woolworths, becaused she had to get something.Snugglebunny8 wrote: »But so far nothing has beaten 'Twelve Days of Christmas' by Trisha Ashley, even though generally Im not a fan of her writing it's the most Christmassy book ever, Ive read it so many times its falling apart, as has DD! but have just started it again, so if anyone wants a recommendation for the bst one to get, so far it's that
I absolutely love that book. Bought one of her others 'A Winters Tale' in a second hand book shop in the summer. Am waiting for December to read it. I do hope I won't be disappointed. At least I have 'The 12 Days' to fall back on if I am.0 -
