I'm sorry if they are too big, or poor quality! The first is our tree the second is in the kitchen area :-)

I just had a look at your page to see if you had a website and I see you are from Poole, so am I! Are you doing local fetes? I would love to come and see (buy!) your makes :)

I am at Fernheath Play on Verwood Road on the 15th December from 2pm - would be lovely to meet a fellow Christmas nut =D

Decorations are up and have just enjoyed some lovely stollen with my cup of tea. In true family fidget tradition we will be ordering take away tonight (always have it the evening that we put up the decorations) whilst it is still light I will attempt to take some photographs :)

To all of you with real christmas trees and pets, how do you stop the pine needles getting stuck in paws? As I mentioned before, I planned to buy a real tree to display my makes on, but my cousin has put me off by saying the dogs may get hurt :(

Oh my word I had to restrain myself in there when we went to Florida earlier this year!! There's one Mickey-shaped one made of silver bells on this tree but I could have bought so many more. It's such a huge shop. We're going again in March (we're getting married in Florida) and this time all my nieces and nephews will be with us so I'm really looking forward to seeing their faces in all the parks/shops! Enjoyed our last visit but I think there were some things that were just wasted on us. (Not the Christmas shop though!)

All my favourite decorations actually come from garden centres, but I never buy anything full price, just wait for January when everything is cheap as chips :j

I know daytime television is generally bad, but what on earth is this Crime Stories on ITV?! I saw a bit of one the other day and it's just come on now. It's filmed like it's a 'fly-on-the-wall' with a voice-over etc, but is actually a drama. It's SO awful!!!

My sister had some bad news this week, bless her, she has to have an operation on her eyes, problem with her retina breaking down. I'm so proud of her though, she's normally a very glass-half-empty person but even though it's a huge op and pretty nasty, she's being so positive about it! Think after we lost my dad she lost her 'mojo' a bit but now she's had children she's really got a sparkle back!

My work are doing a collection for a local food kitchen in the run up to Christmas, it's the same charity I give to through my payroll each month (part of that give as you earn scheme) but I have been looking for something practical to do to help them too, so gathering up things from their list today. And tidying. Putting up the tree in one room seems to have mysteriously disassembled all my other rooms.

so hard to be restrained isnt it??? I love that shop! my favourite is a green Mickey sparkly bauble with ears, and between the ears is a Mickey Mouse with his head on his elbow wearing a Santa hat

just wanted to send my best wishes re your sister. My hubby had 4 operations last year on his retina, just wanted to say that it really does get better (after the ops she may look a little like the Terminator but reassure her it clears very quickly) and that to start with - if she has a gas bubble or oil - she may not immediately have vision or full vision, it does come back slowly - hubby has better vision now than he had before the ops, we found 'one day at a time' really helped us, if you want to ask any questions my hubby will be happy to let you know what it was like for him :)
  • huge hugs to everyone who is feeling unwell or in pain :( Im terrified of dentist too, tis a horrible thing!!

MaggieMcQ huge congrats, what wonderful news!!

    These are both amazing. :D

I went to the Trafford Centre today, where they have put up some nice decs. I couldn't visit the little Christmas village though as there wasn't time. They had the Manchester Show Choir performing to raise money for Christie's and they did a couple of nice Christmas songs, to help get everyone in the mood. :)
  • hope chirpychick is ok, wonder if baby Levan has made his appearance yet? can't wait to hear! x
  • wow those cupcakes are incredible JJ! I love all the trees and the cards and decs are wonderful, loving the Lego chocolate!

managed to nip to M&S while kids were in the hairdressers, thats not a good decision on a saturday in December! but did get my free range turkey breast joint and 6 packs of party food on 3 for 2, lucky they now have some stuff in! my list of food stuff to get is now down to half, but as usual I will have to make a 23rd trip as M&S use by dates on stuff like smoked salmon and prawns are always too short!

JJ I am in love with those! Can I ask how long they took? I am tempted but scared I wouldn't have the patience :(

One of you lovely people mentioned that you sell childrens name bracelets at craft fairs - Can I ask whether you do the names up in advance, or when your there? I am really tempted to make some Christmas themed ones, but have no idea what names to make in advance lol

chickywiggle Those Lego choccies look awesome! I am so very tempted to have a go at doing some myself. What type of choc works best?

MarliesMommyxx Your tree is B E A UTIFUL! I'm itching to get mine up now! Might have to start fetching the decs out during the coming week.

Thank you all for the comments on my cupcakes. Cake decorating is a hobby of mine, and I love doing them.

Feisty, they probably took me about and hour and half to decorate. They're so easy to do, and Pinterest is absolutely teeming with pictures to take inspiration from. I use normal fondant icing, but I do add an edible glue to it, to stiffen it up so it's easier to mould. I use a product called Tylo Powder, and would heartily recommend it for anyone who wants to have a go at decorating cakes/cupcakes.
    Tylo Powder

I've only really been doing it for about 7 months or so, but love it. My waistline doesn't though! :rotfl:
