2nd hand car "bought" Friday now advertised as cheaper
Options
Hello, bought (fully paid) and signed for a second hand car on Friday, before it had hit the forecourt.
It was being serviced, valeted etc etc for it to be delivered to me tonight.
I have since noticed that the car is on the dealers website and autotrader for £100 less than I have (already) paid.
I guess the dealer have to follow a policy with regards to advertising etc etc - should I be asking for the difference in price between what I agreed and what it's now being advertised at?
I guess the answer is "yes", but wasn't sure where I stood as its a bit of a bargain whichever price i pay....
Thanks in advance.

You agreed a price so stick with it.
You should have done your homework first.0 -

Not very helpful, but thanks for the reply....0 -
Why do you think the answer should be yes? They named a price and you agreed it, end of. If the dealer had told you it was going to be advertised for £100 less than quoted would you have waited and possibly missed out to another buyer? Too late now but learn to haggle ready for next time.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0

Becuase it's being advertised at a lower price and I have not taken ownership of it yet. I have paid, but the only document signe dis for temporary insurance.
As I say, I don't know how I stand with this and I'm getting a decent price either way. Although obviously I'd prefer the £100....0 -
You can try, you never know it might work or they might tell you the advertised price is a misprintBe Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0

Tuff, you agreed the price. As I said look at the adverts before you offer and agree a sale.0 -
i might be completely missing something, but more to the point, if you have already fully paid for the car, why is it re-advertised for sale?0

I'd hazard a guess that the ad. was already at the publishers and the only thing worth bothering changing in the short time available, not to wreck the overall ad. was the price of this car. You've done the deal, so stick with it. No doubt your mates will step in line how they could have got it cheaper, better, newer etc.0

OP, if the advertisement put the price up in the same time scale would you be happy to pay the increased price seeing as that is what it would be advertised at?0

There was no advert for this until today. I already haggled it down slightly, my concern was rather how I stood with regards to the ad etc. Although I hav noticed them reducing the prices of cars that I know have sold already over the last few weeks. Still, I'm happy to pay what I'm paying just thought I'd ask.i might be completely missing something, but more to the point, if you have already fully paid for the car, why is it re-advertised for sale?
As I've just replied above the dealers seem to be reducing prices on vehicles already sold. Maybe to drive the market their way? Although I guessed initially the advertising was just procedural.OP, if the advertisement put the price up in the same time scale would you be happy to pay the increased price seeing as that is what it would be advertised at?
Erm....
Cheers for the sensible replies folks.0
