So much choice... a little help please (Smartphone)
As much as I love my old nokia phone the pull of the apps and better internet browsing has made me decide I would like a new smartphone for under £150. Ive had a search and many of the threads on here are from last year, so im not sure how relevant they still are.
I love playing angry birds so im guessing it would need to be android that I go after ? ?
Any suggestions ???
Many thanks

It doesn't have to be android, you should be able to get a previously owned iphone around that budget.
If you do get an android, check the available ram, as my colleagues galaxy ace does not execute temple run, which it does run on mine, so whislt the ace is a great budget handset which will fit your budget, not all the apps will be executable on the device due to limits on the technical spec, the Orange San Fransisco should be worth a view too though.0 -
You'll find some options in this recent thread: Vodafone Upgrade Advise Needed Please0

£150 was sort of my budget and I try to keep an eye out just incase anything interests me, at the moment the options seem to be the SanFran 2, the Samsung Galaxy Y or the Ace, the HTC Wildfire and possibly a second hand version of the iphone 3s (but not a brand new unused one).
As to weather any are better then the iphone 3s, thats up to you to decide, from what I gather its not so easy to compare as its not comparing like with like in many cases, they work in different ways and also have different fan groups and loyalties which means some will never like one over the other (eg Samsung vs Apple) just on principal making it harder to still compare when asking people, you have to find out what you need and are looking for in a mobile and then work out which offers you closest to what you want out of the options.
For me? None are good enough, I dislike the idea of paying my money for a mobile which is not fir for purpose: a phone which requires me to take a clumsy charger and feel anxious when I am not near a plug socket because the battery is going to at some point run out that day is not a phone I would call fir for purpose. It would appear the best you can do to get around this is get a phone costing closer to £500- even more then a computer, soley for the problem of a poor battery. This or have to fiddle around with bits of plastic swapping about the additional battery you have had to pay for to resolve the issue. Not something I am happy to put up with so until they deal with that issue I'm not bothering.0 -
thanks for the info..
having dug around a bit more on the internet ive read a bit about the Nokia Lumia 710. I know its not android but uses the Windows.
Any thoughts ?0 -

yes it is available but im not if future releases will be made for the windows platform as I believe the developer considered it too much work to develop the game for the windows phones.
maybe i should just consider sticking with the android phones0 -
Android, iphone, Blackberry...had them ALL, Windows Phone 7 is in a league of its own for reliability.....get that NOKIA ! It may have less apps in its marketplace but it has less CRAP apps

Microsoft are rigid as with Windows on WP7, this works, on other smaartphones you have apps all over the place onWP7 you swipe once to the left and a A-Z of apps appears, the opertaing system is more quick and smooth than the rest.SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe

slightly annoying that the lumia 700 doesnt support flash...0

Be aware that with the Lumia 710 you're stuck with a small amount of memory...around 4 or 5Gb for music and apps.I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.
