Is it just me or is this country unwilling to be governed by a Conservative led coalition?
It seems that so many things have either failed or had what seems to be a disproportionate amount of negative coverage:
1. Pastry tax
2. Granny tax
3. Heathrow queues
4. Fuel strike
5. Charity tax
It does appear that coverage of these items on the BBC is quite venomous, definitely more so than while Labour was in power.

The BBC do have a negative stance on the govt.
But the govt. don't help by shooting themselves in the foot so frequently. If I don't reply to your post,
you're probably on my ignore list.0 -
Now you mention it, you've clearly uncovered a communist conspiracy.1. The house price crash will begin.
2. There will be a dead cat bounce.
3. The second leg down will commence.
4. I will buy your house for a song.0 -
By it's nature, a state funded organisation will always have a left wing bias.0

Saw the thread title and thought "That would be nice".It only takes one tree to make a thousand matches, it only takes one match to burn a thousand trees. As well, the cars are all passing me, bright lights are flashing me.

I'd be more impressed with all politicians if they were less bothered by scoring political points over each other over relatively unimportant issues & got their heads together to sort out the mess the country is in.
It seems to me that many MPs are more bothered about trying to keep their own jobs than help the 'ordinary' person find or keep theirs.
When the Opposition can't actually give any real policy ideas which might work & relies totally on just opposing for opposing's sake or nit-picking over minor issues then the whole system becomes a joke.0 -

It's the government that are meant to be implementing policy ideas which (they said) would work. The opposition should be holding them to account if they don't work.
Why do the opposition need to give policy ideas which might work?0 -
That's how politics work.
You spend the first three years blaming the last Government for everything, and the next two are spent demanding the opposition present their alternative policies.'In nature, there are neither rewards nor punishments - there are Consequences.'0 -

Tories - its always the messenger, its never their fault.
What about Tory MP's (and Lib Dems) who have attacked these policies - where does the BBC fit in there ?US housing: it's not a bubble - Moneyweek Dec 12, 20050 -

Nit picking leads to more and more negative politics, which is what we have at the moment. I've never heard a positive word out of milliband's mouth. I've often heard that British elections are more about who you vote against, rather than who you vote for. This sniping entrenches that further.
If I was in his position, I'd want to run a positive message rather than a thoroughly negative message. Its easy to snipe from the sides but hard to actually provide meaningful solutions.0 -

I agree, but it's career suicide for any politician to stand boldly for policies that hurt in the short term, but will have long term benefits. Political journalists focus on silly Westminster gossip and ridiculous photoshoots (like the nonsensical idea that Oxbridge North London dwellers like Balls and Milliband regularly buy lunch at Greggs). We get the democracy we deserve. They are an EYESORES!!!!0
