Not much to report here. Been earning around £1 average per day from doo yoo, almost up to £20.

Seems as though work in the house may only cost £500 not £1000 which is great as we will be able to do more of it ourselves than we initially thought.

Shoppinge trips are around £10-£15 per week instead of the usual £60! Freezer is still packed, trying to use up what we have got which seems to be going well but also seem to have loads of stuff in freezer!

Hi everyone. In the lull after payday so not many updates. Get paid on Friday though woo hoo!!!! Although car tax and insurance due which we've put savings away separately so the mortgage savings pot won't reduce. Will have to use some of this payday cash for work in the house so won't have much spare to put in the pot I don't think.

eBay been going well, one item is over £70 at the moment (the rest just a few pounds) so really pleased about that, they all end tonight.

Hit £20 on DooYoo. Going to carry on until I get to £50 cash payout again.

Randomly have £25 confirmed cashback to be paid in the next payment run from Sky - not sure why? Wonder if it was because we upgraded our home phone tarrif slightly. Anyway, I wasn't expecting it so that is very nice!

    £25 Quidco (payment pending)
    £50 DooYoo (payment pending)
    £26 Ciao (payment pending)
    £70 eBay (payment pending)
    = £170 :)

Still got tonnes of stuff to eBay too!

We didn't go away on holiday so saved £350 (excluding food), we did have some days out which including petrol probably cost around £110. We have done a fair bit of lunching out but also took a few picnics to cut the costs. Glad we saved the money as the weather has been rubbish so it would have been miserable holidaying in the UK in this weather. I've put the spare savings in our savings account.

Total sales of eBay came to £86 (excluding postage costs) so pretty happy with that.

Desperately need to stick to a food budget of £10 this week. Only need lunching items so should be OK. Will be taking cash out of the cash machine and having the money in my purse for this reason only. Spending on a card hides the amount I seem to spend and I end up spending way more than I intend.

    Hurry up payday and Friday!
  • Morning Ammonite, your savings are going really well. It is a big comfort knowing that you have a buffer to cope with unexpected things. Good luck with the rest of your eb@ying.

I have just seen a chink of sun :)

    Best wishes, Tilly x

Thanks TheYoungOne! It is amazing how much it adds up!

Just received a £10 gift voucher from Amazon (I have a loyalty credit card), that was a nice surprise :j I've got £18 credit in my Amazon account which occasionally is used for the odd kindle book or more often ink cartridges or Christmas presents :)

Also opened a new Natwest Credit card, 0% on spends for 18months and loyalty points. You get 2500 points for opening the card and 2000 equates to £10 M&S voucher or 4000 equates to £20 Amazon. Need to spend £1500 on the card to get the £20 Amazon so may transfer all my petrol/grocery/big spends over to the new credit card in order to get the £20 Amazon (will use Amazon more than M&S I think).

Think I've decided to make spends on the new credit card until I get the £20 voucher (and pay it off in full each month) for Amazon. I'm sure it won't take me long.

I'm itching for payday on Friday, desperate to boost my savings. Have a few more things to eBay but not too much.

Doo-Yoo is going well, managed to pick up another crown so that gave my pennies a real boost, almost at £26 again. Still waiting for payouts from everywhere else. Seem to be screened out of lots on 1poll lately.

Just done Martin's new Ditch the fix calculator and if we can get a mortgage rate under 1.1% we should ditch our fix now. So with that in mind, we'll be sticking it out for another 18 months :(

Glad England won last night even if the game was a bit dull, anyone watch it?
  • Morning Ammonite, I am not sure where this year is going, we are heading towards the end of June and I need to do July's menu plan !

I need to start menu planning a bit more too, especially so I don't waste fresh food as much. Off to Aldi today with my allocated £10 for the week, have a shopping list which will come to over £30 so I really need to try and just pick up the necessities and leave the "can wait" until another day (such as mustard).

Had a re-jiggle of the money as I was paid early :)

Currently have 7.008% of the mortgage in savings :D not sure how much more we can add to that this month (except for pending payments from survey sites & eBay) as we need to pay out the stuff for the house (which is still less than expected).

It is wet and miserable here today, feels like October :( Hope you have sunshine where you are :)
