  • Hi Ammonite,

There are some more 02 priority moments goodies showing - free pizza from ASK, free cram a bag daffodil bulbs from garden centre and free coffee from Esquires. Depending on your location, you might have these offers. So, take a look. HTH.

Thanks unhappy_shopper, I didn't have location services switched on so couldn't see any locals deals, I will take a proper look now.

Janine - We will definitely be getting more quotes for the work, even if I have to send OH up a ladder himself , we won't be paying the price of that quote :D

I've had to give in and have the heating on. We've had it on for 3 x 30 minutes so far which is better than normal.

Off for a shallow bath now ;) :rotfl: Oh the things we do to save money!
  • I adore having a nice hot bubble bath but in the attempt to be MSE have been having showers instead. Yet to see if it's saved us any money really, if not then I'm going back to having my baths!!

I was supposed to get 10% off my bill with O2 this month as well but for some reason haven't so might have to contact them to find out why. It's only a couple of quid but still rather it be in my pocket than theirs!

  • Can't remember my last bath. I'm sure I have had one in the new bath since it was installed November last year but I can't remember. I prefer showers. I guess it does save money because our water bill is only about £19 per month.

We opted not to get a shower in our bathroom, I would never use it anyway I get too cold in them. As heart wrenching as it is to pay the water rates rather than be on a meter, I feel we do get our money's worth! We'd pay a fortune on a meter I think.

Went to Mr T's last night and got a small amount of shopping for about £12 and then managed to get to get 2 lots of mushrooms, 2 big bags of new potaotes for the grand old sum of 80p for the lot. Good timing!

Our cupboards and freezer look healthy once again, need to tot up my grocery spends and update my signature.

No other savings news until Payday number 2 I think.

When i lived in my old house i moaned because the boiler was too small and i couldn't have a bath without filling the kettle several times, now i'm here i miss my electric shower, the water got piping hot and i was never cold in it and i could just jump in anytime, i could never have a shallow bath tho that would make me cold, the bathroom in this house is quite cold aswell, theres no curtains (i'm gonna pin a fleece up for now i think, as soon as they arrive) and when we were moving the wee small radiator was broken and our plumber got us a free towel rail it's a high output one aswell but it's still very cold in there so i need to be completely submerged in water :)

OH hasn't paid in the second lot of wages yet as he has been busy so no money shuffling for me :(

I have had our monthly interest paid in and it comes to a grand total of £5.43 so I made it up to £10 and put it in the overpay. It barely made a difference but all helps in the long run :D

Busy day ahead of cleaning and doing jobs in the house today. Also need to ring nPower again as I think I've figured out Gas Tarrifs thanks to help on the Utilities board and think a fix will be better in the long term for us.

Earnt 40p on 1poll last night and must write another review on DY, I have been a bit slack over there lately :o
  • Morning Ammonite :)

Well done on the supermarket bargains, I never seem to hit them at the right time to get them, no matter what time I seem to go!

Hope your OH's pay gets sorted soon x

We often hit them at the right time (even if that involves stalking several of the staff :D) I guess we are just lucky.

I can money shuffle today hurrah! No more money going into the savings BUT all 0% credit cards paid off in full (we do almost do this every month) and we have a substantial amount left for groceries, petrol and work on the house which I'm pleased about as we've saved quite a bit and I thought we would have to dip into our savings for the work we want doing on the house. Equally we haven't dipped into savings for the baby stuff we have had to buy either so the savings are still currently intact which I'm very very pleased about !

No more quotes through yet but lots of expenses to pay out in the next few weeks.

I am also due £10 voucher from the Credit card reward scheme in the next week or so and half way there with my other card. Handy for Christmas.

I opened my Christmas savings pot and have a fair bit in there for Christmas and will start eBaying for the rest of the Christmas money in the next fortnight or so.

Getting closer by the day on Onepoll - really hope to get to £40 by Christmas. At £40 on DY so need to make a concerted effort with that to get to £50 soon. No good bonuses on Ciao so have left that alone this month really, will probably get about £5 from that. Got a few revirews to transfer over so will do that today while the beauty bonus is still on.

The Quidco, DY and Ciao money really helped us last month so I need to remember that when I get fed up at the thought of them.

Other than petrol and salad I'm hoping for a no-spend-week!
