  • I find these light bulbs distracting and dangerous , I think they are called xenon bulbs or something they damn to ' bright ' they blind you in the dark and daytime . I had on many occasions to pull up safely after being dazzled by them front and rear .

I think you mean HIDs, these are actually illegal and an MOT failure on cars that don't have self leveling headlights.
I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world

Yeah, sorry forgot to mention that, the car needs to be fitted with both, never understood the relevance of headlight washer though.

Actually they're not an MOT failure when retrofitted to older cars, they're only an MOT failure if the headlight washers and self levelers are fitted but don't work. The new MOT rules apparently copped out on this for some reason.

I hate them too, but sadly they won't be disappearing from all the barried 90s Corsas just yet :(

They are certainly 'technicaly' illegal and an MOT failure on my 08 reg Vectra, however it seems that a lot of MOT testers let them pass.

Still less annoying than the muppets who put their fog lights on in the rain!

In extreme spray, where visibility is below 100m it is a good idea to use rear fog lights and is much more preferable to nothing.

If visibility improves, you must turn them off though.

Quite why some people drive around in a daze, with no lights on or rear fogs in bright sunshine in a mystery to me.

    Here here !

I always drive with my lights on, I have a Subaru Forester and leave the lights on permanently as they turn off when engine is switched off. If driving on dual carriageways or motorways and the spray becomes so thick that normal rear red driving lights cant be seen then I will put my rear fogs on, rather be seen from 50m back than having a car shunt me up the ar5e at 50+ mph.
