Daytime Running Lights - a danger

I've decided that DRL's are dangerous in rain on the motorway.
I've been following several newish cars recently and noticed they didnt have their lights on. When I got past them I noticed that they had thei fronts on. Which is a bit dangerous on the motorway in the rain.
Why didnt car makers have all of the lights come on under the DRL law?
Or maybe the drivers of said cars need to be educated to turn their lights on and not just assume they are on...

aleast they have some lights on ,i bet there the drivers that word not have any lights on at all if it was not for the DRL lawsthere or their, one day i might us the right one ,until then tuff0

If as part of the DRL the rear lights were on it would use more power, in poor visibility they should have the headlights on anyway rather than using the DRLs. I agree with the user above that at least they have some lights on when plenty don't bother turning any lights on.

If visibility is reduced and you have put proper lights on, then it is in fact the driver that is a danger, not the DRLs.0

I put my lights on so no one runs into me
i get the idea other people play the game of look how hard i am i dont need lights
just like the £45,000 car owner trying to take precedence on a narrow road yesterday by bullying tactics and he thought i would stop because my vehicle was only worth a £1000, not so
think drl only in bad weather think idiot
Choose putting your lights on,Choose whether our journey is really necessary,Choose did you fill up the tank,Choose should you go on your own,Choose whether to book a bed and breakfast or a boutique stopover,Choose whether you want to have a bacon sandwich in the morning
just choose to put you proper lights on then we can see you0 -
I don't think this is so much about DRLs as to the general attitude of most drivers driving in conditions without using appropriate lights. This equally applys to drivers with DRLs as to those without.0

I personally think most (not all) DLRs are just a styling thing, looks like the manufacturer has sent the 18 year old apprentice down to Halfords to add those finishing touches before the car leaves the production line. I can't realy see the point, yes ok they do make your car more visablee to other road users, but so does switching on your headlights, also I'm pretty sure they can be deactivated/switched off, I've seen Audi's going around with their DLRs switched off.I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world0

I know they can be turned off on the DS4 that I was using last week. Thy can also be turned off on the Fiat 500 too.0

I think they're good in one, because there a lot of idiot drivers out there who use NO lights in rain, fog, snow, etc...... At least now they have no choice.
BUT personally I think rather than DRLs, the Police should have been punishing the idiots!!! This is doing nothing but allowing these fools to carry on uneducated.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Which is why they pointless, they can be turned off, so idiots still drive around with no lights on in conditions where they are needed.I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world0 -
My car switches the headlights on in the rain maybe should be standard on all cars.Google gives you answers use it.........0
