BUT personally I think rather than DRLs, the Police should have been punishing the idiots!!! This is doing nothing but allowing these fools to carry on uneducated.

I agree. Sadly with idiot politicians making comments like the one below, road policing will continue to be sidelined and cut (until of course, a member of their family is killed/left brain damaged by a banned/uninsured driver):

The police won't prosecute because they can't point a camera at it. Oh wait a minute ... :)

On my last car (Fiat Brava) for nine months of the year the lights were permanently on as they switched on and off when the ignition was switched on and off. Annoyingly the new (to me) Focus doesn't do this and I have to remember to switch the lights on!

Fortunately other motorists remind me of this by blasting the horn and flashing headlights in a friendly "Oi Pillock, switch your bloody lights on" way.

Modern cars with permenantly illuminated clocks don't help, at one time all that was needed as reminder was a look at the dashboard instruments.

just like the £45,000 car owner trying to take precedence on a narrow road yesterday by bullying tactics and he thought i would stop because my vehicle was only worth a £1000,

I always find a cheap car to be a great advantage in these situations :)

I've decided that DRL's are dangerous in rain on the motorway.

I've been following several newish cars recently and noticed they didnt have their lights on. When I got past them I noticed that they had thei fronts on. Which is a bit dangerous on the motorway in the rain.

    Utter rubbish.

DRL's - A solution to a problem that didn't exist. But then it is easier to compel auto manufacturers to fit them than it is to improve driving test standards and the overall standards of driving.

Still less annoying than the muppets who put their fog lights on in the rain!
