There are batteries for the Desire HD on eBay for under a tenner. It seems like much less hassle.0

I didn't just buy a new battery as it is not a known fact that the battery is the cause. And I suggested this to my DH but he told me to speak to them first. I haven't had a phone go wrong before so have no idea what bits are covered and what I should do. Hence my post....
HTC have responded but it seems that they will still charge for a repair anyway, and they have suggested it is the battery. And it would be another 25 quid admin fee on top of the quote. I have asked them to explain why I need to pay anything as the phone is still under warranty. Will see what they come back with but I agree it might be worth buying a battery and/or borrowing a different charger to see if that changes the picture.I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off

Glad it wasn't just me that was thinking "eh.. just buy a new battery.."
After post number four I was thinking the same thing.
Buy a battery. Buy one anyway, whether it works or not you clearly want to continue to use the phone and a second battery extends its life should you be away from a wall socket for a long period of time. I have second batteries for all of my phones.0
