O2 constant price rises
My contract is up in June and I'm with O2 so I've been monitoring the O2 iphone price and its constantlly rising! First it went from FREE and £36/month for an iphone 4s to £59.99 upfront a couple of weeks ago, now its jumped AGAIN to £99.99 upfront for the same tariff.
How do they justify making another £100 upfront from their customers? It seems like they're completely making the figure up!

Upgrade through someone like phones 4u or car phone warehouse or online at like buymobilephones.net x you'll get a much better deal than going via O2 direct. O2 direct are a rip off. I upgraded a while back with phones 4 u. The iPhone 4s should have been £100 up front on £36 month contract but they took my smashed up desire s in part ex for the fee and gave me a free iPhone accesory pack too x0

Don't know if what you say is true, but I think they don't have to 'justify' anything. It's just how market works.0

O2 don't have to justify the price to anyone, the iPhone is in high demand0

First if you contract is up in june it may be they'll come down again, Early upgrades generally are not that good an offer as they know you still have a few months to go and can offer so-so deals knowing if you leave they get the eraly termination fee anyway.
No-one is forcing you to take a iPhone. All companies change pricing according to demand, if the iPhone is selling well they will charge more if they think the market will bear it.
O2 have changed tarrifs with the new On and On Tarrif, one feature of that is the "upgrade early" option, so they re-vamped the prices, if you don't like it go elsewhere.0 -
go into o2 and see them in store.
when we upgraded to 4s's they had all the current offers that CPW and P4U had in a folder, they merely price matched them there and then - we paid nothing up front for our two handsets around 5 months ago on a 900min/18 month deal.0 -

The phone was never actually free at £36, it was £37. When O2 launched their On and On tariff they had it at £59.99 as an introductory offer.
That being said Tesco phone shop provide the iPhone 4S 16GB free of charge from £32 on O2.0 -
I think they do. Why can't they just come out and say that they are greedy and will screw their customers for all they are worth and there is nothing illegal about it so tough t*tt*es. My only hope is that consumers remember who ripped them off if ever these companies hit the bad times. Also those hypocritcal ad campaigns they are running make me puke!O2 don't have to justify the price to anyone, the iPhone is in high demand0
