The BBC is obsessed with sport. Heaven help us when the international school sports day is on later this year!

Not that I consider Monty Don much of a loss, I must say.

I intend when it comes to to the bl**dy olympics my TV will be very much turned off and any programs I want to watch will see online - I consider the olympics to be a total waste of money.

I hate it when they mess around with schedules for sport, okay things over run and like gardening sport is also most popular after Winter. But why just miss a program? why not put it on later or another channel? We all have different tastes but to miss a week at one of busy times of year is very disappointing

Which channel amd when is Beechgrove Garden please?

    If you've got Sky, it's channel 990.
It's on Thursdays usually at 7.30pm, but 7.00pm this week for some reason.
Maybe BBC have more consideration for gardeners up north :p

I so agree, I am thinking of signing up to video rental but my local video shop does not open until 10 AM, and the pub opens at 11AM so I will have an hour to loose :D

I thought that gardening was the national pastime these days? and surely people who trying to reduce their overheads by growing their own veg etc should be encouraged instead of being pushed aside as soon as a sporting event occurs? 'International School Sports Day' I like it :) and nice to hear that I'm not the only one totally disinterested in the whole Olympic fiasco.

Read a bit in the Daily Mail today [yep, I know, but I was supporting the local brewing industry at the time ] that gardening is the only pastime hobby that has not increased in price over the last few years

Have they not seen the price of seeds and plants this year?

Seeds are pretty cheap at pound shops or Lidl/Aldi.
    Keep on trucking!
