re: soya in coffee. I saw that they are selling a special one in H&B now, but I can't remember the brand. There were large "Doesn't Curdle!" banners on the box though.

Also, (I hate coffee), one of my friends says that the no-vitamins added kind, just plain, works better and doesn't curdle so much.

    I shall investigate, thanks.

    Hey welcome eejit ;)

I was reading a vegan publication for caterers the other day, it said to heat the milk before you add it, so hopefully that may help someone although somebody has already said it didn't work for them - seems to for Starbucks tho ;)

I've been vegan for 6 months now, just went straight to it from an omnivore diet, eating anything and everything to get about 6000 calories a day. I'm only just now getting over the vegan farts which have made life a misery for workmates and friends but have provided endless hours of entertainment for myself :rotfl:

I get the usual questions, why? what do you eat? what about protein? etc probably moreso than most as I have a very physical job, I like working out and love mixed martial arts. I often bake vegan desserts for my friends and naysayers; they can never believe that it is vegan, especially since they taste better than any non vegan equivalents that they have ever tried :j

Going to buy all the ingredients for those cupcake recipes posted earlier and give them a bash.

You might find these sites useful then http://www.veganfitness.net/index.php?sid=e9744914acf39d749a9988572deca279 http://www.veganbodybuilding.com/

Regarding milk curdling, apparently it's down to the acidity of the coffee/tea, smoother varieties don't curdle as quick. Heating the milk can help, I find putting the sugar/xylitol (sp) in first helps too. Since switching to alpro light and using a smooth, strong coffee I haven't had the curdling problem.

  • I saw on come dine with me, a woman who did a vegan dinner party, she went on to talk abbout cows milk and the killing of them, I am very interested but the thought of having to learn from scratch how to cook ect scares me, is there a thread on here for vegan recipes?

also regarding soya milk curdling in coffee, i found that it never happens for me if i put the soya in first and turn the kettle off well before it boils
