Breadline Families - Make Stuff Go Further Tips

Hi all, just popped in to tell any breadline families that our greengrocer let me have a sack of winter potatoes for 20% off (have to search thru obvsly, and pick out unusable ones, but still much cheaper than washed bagged supermarket ones.) Lots of people, inc me, don't like the new pots and so go on getting the old winter ones for as long as poss. So loads of healthy mash, crispy bakes pts for us for a while - can be 5 to 10p each.
Looks like shortsighted government might be on run anyway as policies havent worked whilst punishing poorest for mistakes of richest- many countries are working out that you have to put money in before you can make any!0 -
I think you need to find a political forum as an outlet for your monomania ramblings. I'm finding you rather boring.
Or you could put your time on here to better use and pop over to Old-Style and learn something useful0 -
Least it beats a cone of deep fried chips for a BARGAIN quid!!! :rotfl:0

The OP reminds me of the Chawners with her jam is fruit. Audrey Chawner reckons she can get her 5 a day similarly!0

I wonder how the OP got her bargain sack of potatoes home, what with all the Health and Safety rules....0

I don't think a sack of winter spuds with a 20% discount is a particularly keen bargain at all. I could probably do better than that at my local supermarket or when somewhere like L!dl are doing a decent deal. Still, if it makes the OP happy maybe she'll stay away from this thread.
Jam as one of the five-a-day! Fantastic! They will be claiming fags as a nutritious vegetable next0 -

We used to snaffle bits of unsmoked ciggies and chew then to reduce hunger when I was a kid.
So they do have some uses:(?If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
On the subject of potatoes our Morrisons have been selling 12.5 kilo sacks of unwashed potatoes for £2.00 recently.
They only seem to get them every 3rd week or so, but I am on my second sack and have had no problems with them, the odd bad one but thats to be expected.
I am keeping them outside in the shed at the moment.1 Sealed Pot Challenge # 1480

I've finally worked out that I don't actually LIKE cooking. I could do it if I had to... but for me the joy is in looking at colour photos of it ... then eating toast.0

Just went to Marine Aquarium plymouth - got free re-admittance for a year for all the kids listed on our registration form! Hope this helps some poor Mum who is maybe managing to afford to get down to Cornwall/Devon this summer- maybe they could go twice if was raining or something...0
