Desperate help needed stopping my single claim :(

He paid his mortgage, insurances etc I paid the household bills and food clothing school money etc, so if I was renting I would of also had that paid too, I really have not had any extra money than I would of in my own rented accommodation, I also had to pay him £260 a month towards what he was paying!! So I think those comments were unfair0

Yep you do I didn't know he hadn't untill last week with his car, it's just all a damn mess,0

He has carried on paying most of the bills mortgage etc as I was a student untill 3weeks ago and waiting to start a job in around 4-6 weeks,I never thought about this problem as I saw I was doing right cancelling the joint claim, all his details are still in my home address as he saw it it was his house and he was coming back once I move out!!!He paid his mortgage, insurances etc I paid the household bills and food clothing school money etc, so if I was renting I would of also had that paid too, I really have not had any extra money than I would of in my own rented accommodation, I also had to pay him £260 a month towards what he was paying!! I was going on your first (top quoted) comment. Your second says something quite different. So are the household bills, electricity, gas, water, council tax all in your name or did they remain in his and you paid him £260? Maybe if you can show this regular outgoing to him on your bank statement that might help a little on backing up the scenario.
I don't think I've been unfair and, to be frank, you are in for harsher words and question from the tax credit office.0 -
Another thought - do his parents get housing benefit? If so they'd have had to declare he's living there and would have had a non-dependants deduction. If so this would provide some proof he was living there. His parents are elderly early 80s so they are pension age, both his parents live there, I'm not sure why he hasn't been put in the electrol roll there!! No all his insurance still comes to my address
I'm stuffed basically and not my fault, he sees it as its his house his bills and didn't see why he should have to change things, I can to some extent see his point, but when people have children it does happen with finances bills etc.... X0 -
I don't think he stays there much from what I can gather he hardly is there, his parents are elderly and it's not the biggest of homes I know he hates it there, he hasn't been in a brilliant place since the split nor have I and last thing on my Mind is meeting someone but can't speak for him, these errors seem his fault and not mine as I did what I needed to do on my part,0

The £260 is separate from the bills I pay, I pay water, gas electric etc all in my name, ooh yes I put that into his account 1st week every month, that's a good thought!! I have spoke to tax credits officer reviewing the case and to be fair they have been fantastic and really helpful, just hope I can get this sorted
what a mess 0 -
Oh dear what a horrid situation to be in.
I would see a solicitor/cab for advice asap.
Also mention to the benefits agency if they are going to do you for fraud then they should really of been spying on you to make sure he is not coming and going.
Genuine claimants like you get discriminated because of the ones who defraud the system.
Good luck op, sounds like you need it.0 -
No his parents own their home outright and retired now x0

No my name is on most of the bills think its only bt in his name but I pay the bill from my account, I pay £260 a month towards the roof over our head but get no maintenance whilst in his property, If they were watching it would of been over and done with as he only comes to collect the children so that would of answered there querie, it's because his bank account and credit card and loans are still registered here!! X0

I would get bank statements proving I paid BT and in mean time change name with bt as well as tell him to change address for his bills, or you do it for him, and just gather all info ready to send to benefits agency asap (recorded with letter). Don't want to lose money whilst this is on going would be awful being without £.0
