What are my options for getting out of this god forsaken contract?

Simple-only one option. Pay the ETC for the remaining months left on the contract.
Before you take out another contract I suggest you try and acquire a basic knowledge of what is inclusive and what is not.
Picture messaging is not included in your bundle.
PS: it's not '£25 for the next 2 years'; the contract you signed is not a fixed price one-they can increase the cost at any time, as indeed they have recently done.

Well, its not the same. If I go to Tesco with £25 and buy £5 worth of stuff, I'll have £20 left in my pocket.

It would be more similar if I went with £25 voucher.

The OP didn't mean to send them he says it was done by the phone in his pocket. Yes he has to pay but there no need for some of these comments.

To the OP you have used them and will have to pay, but you need to get the phone looked at if it keeps happening, or buy a case that stops buttons bering pressed in your pocket, or set a password so the phone can;t as it doesn know the PIN/Password to send.

Sorry is all this melodrama about £4? OP if your bills are over your monthly charge it is because you have used more than your allowance for the month. If your phone is faulty, and it's the phone you received with your contract, you could ask Orange to have it repaired. I think it would be reasonable to expect your phone to last the full length of your contract without major issue unless you've been mistreating it.

The phone is covered under the manufacturer's warranty (12 or maybe 24m)-not for the length of the contract.
But stuffing it in your back pocket and failing to PIN-lock it is a user fault, not a phone fault!

You'd find that under sales of goods act its reasonable to expect a phone to last the 24 months of a contract.
If i upset you don't stress, never forget that god aint finished with me yet.

Correct, but where goods are supplied in conjunction with a service, the relevant legislation is Section 18(3)(e) of the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982, which has the same effect.

I wasn't totally clear about whether it was just that the phone wasn't locked or that the lock screen was faulty in some way.
