I'm not including childhood jobs like newspaper rounds. After getting paid my first wage, my first purchase was treating myself to my first suspender belt. It was so pretty to me at the time. I wonder what it says about me! Lol.

A S0ny colour TV back in 1989. Up to then I had only had a black and white one and the picture was absolutely amazing. I was so chuffed and can even remember the little shop in Bicester where I bought it:T:T:TI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
A really lovely 200pound midlength cashmere coat. I bought a new full length one recently (same brand - Gilbret), and gave my old one to my mum who was very chuffed.
My husband (before I met him) saved up three months and bought a scooter to get around town.0 -
with my employment contract letter and my first monthly wageslip, I opened a Co-op account and "bought" a hi-fi unit (ie I paid it up over 6 months). It was red plastic, had a turntable, double tape deck and radio, and it was my pride and joy

I think he was about 10 at the time and bought it with money he had earned stacking crates on the market - so for him it felt like his first proper pay packet0 -

So I had cold arms, roasting neck and sweaty sweaty legs :rotfl:Can't think of anything smart to put here...0 -
