It might not seem bright - but it is so much brighter than back in December. You don't need articicial lights - just make sure the window glass is clean and start stuff on there.

I reckon most things will catch up as long as the ground isn't muddy when you plant out.

O No .... does it mean i have to clean my windows ..thats where i may be going wrong:rotfl:

The poor plants can't decide when to start to catch up. Just as they get use to being in a drought, they have to get use to our gardens flooding.

Almost May and nothing in the ground. Icy cold rain day after day after day.

You and me both for a change. Here in London I have soggy, waterlogged soil and rain every so**ing day.
I'm way behind where I would be usually so am going to have to buy veg longer than usual this year.

Long term forecasts are showing an average summer and slightly warmer in Scotland but as it's difficult to predict more than 5 days in advance I wouldn't count on it.

    I'm considering growing rice now:D

That's a good idea, is it true they switched to growing rice in Ireland after the potatoe famine ?
Is that why they call them Paddy fields.

You could also consider putting a reflector behind them.

You want a bit of a cardboard box - cut the long side so it looks like a roof if the two cut side are face down?

Cover with tin foil. Now turn it onto one side. Place your plant pots on the base and tuck them close to the window. That increases the light levels considerably.
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing

We planted out spinach and parsley seeds on the allotment just before the rain came. I bet they've all washed away! Our plastic greenhouse and coldframe is full of seedlings.. Toms, courgettes, salad, squash etc but they've stopped growing. I may have to bring them indoors.

    Its very fustrating!
