Hello, Thankyou for allowing me to join this group. Got my own problem with this company who from what I've read over the net I have yet to find a positive review. My problem is termination fees and this company seem to have no compassion toward changes in circumstances and are intent on squeezing every last penny out of people with extortionate termination fees. If there was ever a lesson to read T&Cs before signing then this would be it, can't believe I fell for it but you just trust people in good faith. Looking forward to meeting this company in court. Does anybody know whether the section of this company named as Universal debt collectors hold an FCA liscense? could do with finding out before my complaint to Ofcom who I hope will enforce their words printed in black and white in General Conditions.0

My partner runs a hair salon and after a visit from a unicom guy has signed today for a 3 year contract for her business phone. They then phoned later to ask if she was ok etc...
Looking on the net it sounds like it wasn't a wise move.
As this happened today, can she cancel within 14 days etc...?
Any help appreciated..0 -
She needs to look at her contract with them.....make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

Hi Notebook,
See Page 91 in this Ofcom link http://stakeholders.ofcom.org.uk/binaries/telecoms/ga/GENERAL_CONDITIONS_AS_AT_26_DECEMBER_2013.pdf
Ofcom General Conditions 24.6 states that information given at the point of sale should include the ‘customer’s right to cancel at no cost is from the point of sale to the completion of the Transfer Period’.
Hope this helps

Thanks
Does that mean there must be a cancellation period?0 -
Refer to the contract your partner signed-what does it say about cancellation rights?
As above, you have no cooling off period under the DSR, because it does not apply to business contracts. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Hi Notebook
This OFCOM help information might be useful for you.
http://ask.ofcom.org.uk/help/telephone/switch_landline_supplier
Note especially the paragraph which states -
'There is always a `cooling off’ period when you have the right to change your mind about the transfer. Domestic customers and SMALL BUSINESSES shouldn’t normally have to pay any charges for canceling during this period, although you may want to check with your new phone company first
