For those interested, we already know that both stations the OP can travel from are in Zone 2. We also know that both the "Overground" and Tube serve their destination.

Cross reference the prices in the original post with the zonal fares on the TfL website and you'll figure out which zone the station is in which the OP is travelling to. With the information given, there is only one station in the whole of London which fits all of the above criteria.

Once you've figured out what station that is, then you can work backwards to figure out what zone the starting station(s) are in. We've already been told they're in Zone 2 so there's no point in looking for Overground stations in Zone 1!

There are actually a few possibilities where there are LU and Overground Stations in Zone 2 in close proximity to each other, considering most of the Overground is in Zone 2. However, consider how many have a service so infrequent (by London standards) that you'd take an alternative route if you missed the train. That should limit it to a single option and there you have your answer!

To the OP: I presume you were within the gateline at the "Overground" station for at least 2 minutes?
  • I doubt many people are bothered really:rotfl:

But a word of warngin for those who may try and work it out to try and beat the system they will find you and you will get in trouble for doing it too.

Agreed, well if the findings are put into practice that is!
