Pearl Wedding Anniversary

My "in-laws" celebrated their pearl anniversary yesterday, we got them a newpspaper, original not a copy from the date of their wedding and they loved it. It cost £45 (Talk about inflation and mark up!!!!) but it was well received and something they can keep forever.0

The OP said didnt have much money so i was looking at what is available to them.
whats wrong with an M&S meal? its supposed to be the THOUGHT that counts isnt it!
"The thought that counts" must be one of the most overused and misunderstood phrase I know. What thought goes into buying someone an M&S ready meal?0 -
the thought of not having much money and doing the work the best one can to make the meal sensational and their evening as best as one can."The thought that counts" must be one of the most overused and misunderstood phrase I know. What thought goes into buying someone an M&S ready meal?
you got "the Thought" wrong again as its not only The meal its the enitre evening.sounds to me like you never done anything nice for anybody if you can find flaws in this.
"the thought that counts " means everything when planning anything for someone you love, but i guess YOU don't know that!
Misunderstood is you.0 -
30 years of marriage, they get an M&S ready meal and you consider that a treat? Wow!
The treat is being together after 30 years (we hit our Pearl next March) love is its own reward.

I cant understand your statement, I would far rather our children (both grown) just got us a card than went in to dept to buy a present for us.Totally Debt Free & Mortgage Free Semi retired and happy0 -
The plate sounds lovely, some really beautiful ideas here.
I am looking to a buy a Pearl gift for close friends too and especially like the tree or rose ideas. I also thought about an afternoon tea package as I know they are on a walking holiday in the lake district for their anniversary and maybe it could fit in with that.
For family, I love the simple photo of you, your OH and your kids. I know mine or OH's parents would appreciate that - after all we don't tend to dish out photos of our own family to our folks once our kids are past being babies. With some offers that are around you could even get it turned into a canvas and delivered direct to them.
I thought the M&S meal was a sweet idea or a homemade meal or cake(s) would probably go down well and be more money saving too.
