Hi
My parents are celebrating their pearl wedding anniversary next month and I really need some help in what to get them. Don't have a lot to spend and just don't know what to get them.
Just looking for any advice/help/ideas.
Thanks:D

why don't you treat them to an anniversary meal at home, set the table for 2, candles napkins just like a posh place then you cook the starter, main and dessert.serve them like in a posh place and let them enjoy the evening perhaps soft music playing and don't forget to wash up.
meal for 2 £10 in M&S0 -
You could get them a mother of pearl embellished photo album and fill it with pictures of their years together?

I like the idea of giving a sort of 'package' of memories like this.
Do you want to go with a pearl theme or just want something special?
You could get a simple photo album(to keep the cost down) and do the same thing or you could get a mother of pearl photo frame and use a nice picture of their wedding day or something similar.
Or, how about a trip down memory lane... I did this for my mum's 70th - I took her for a drive around all of her old haunts (from school to the church where she got married). We had lunch in a cafe she used to go to as well. She absolutely loved it. Is there anywhere special that your parents would like to see again?
Do you have any siblings to get together with to pool funds?:hello:0 -
I like all the ideas but I live 100 miles away so can't do the meal, don't have access to their photos (won't be seeing them until after their anniversary) and it's only me
We all live a few hundred miles from where they got married.:(
I started to think about it before christmas then thought i'd got loads of time and stopped thinking about it and just realised that its shot up! grrrrr feel awful too as they (and we) ahave had an awful 3/4 years. Just wanted to do something special and for them,

Any aunts or uncles that may have photos that you can copy?
As you live so far away perhaps just a visit and a token pressie would be better than something more expensive but posted.
Could they come and stay with you for a couple of days as a chance for you to spoil them?:hello:0 -
I know am being REALLY unhelpful! No one else will even think about it

My mum's been ill and can't travel at all. arrrrgggggghhhhh why didn't i think beforehand? stupid stupid woman! Just don't want to get them a token piece of rubbish if you know what i mean! (without sounding rude, just wanted something meaningful)0 -
We had our pearl wedding 6 yrs ago + got a Willow tree ornament , it's an embracing couple , from DD . I got mother of pearl pendant ,earrings + ring from DH. We didn't get anything really pearly ! Not really fond of pearl type things anyway . We were just happy to get nice cards etc and that our children knew it was a special anniversary for us . It's nice that you're thinking about your parents 30th anniversary . I think they'll appreciate a special card and anything that you've thought of to get them .0

30 years of marriage, they get an M&S ready meal and you consider that a treat? Wow!0 -
What about a planted patio rose or a flower for the garden...lots of garden centres do speciality roses named after anniversaries or you could just pick one that is the main colour of your mums wedding bouquet if you know what colour she chose....
or you could perhaps make them a voucher foe an afternoon tea at a local hotel
or maybe compile them a CD of music from their era....I'm guessing that if they are celebrating 30 years then they are possibly late 50's or early 60's in age...so a day out might be nice....are there any national trust properties that they might like to go to,a musical or theatre trip,or even an evening at the cinema ....
Are they the sort that would like a photo to commemorate the occaision...either you could book a session for them ,or have a photo of their family done for them...frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!
2017 toiletries challenge 179 out 145 in ...£18.64 spend0 -

You say no-one else will make the effort - could you motivate anyone else to do something as well as your input?
As your mum has been ill and can't travel, why can't you go to see them?
A visit would probably mean a lot more (especially as mum has been poorly). I don't understand why you can't go to them and treat them to a pub lunch at least.:hello:0
