got my portmeirion order today 6 plates arrived smashed

Hi blondynurse, mine arrived today too and 2 boxes of pasta bowls and plates were also smashed  I rang them straight away and they couldn't have been more helpful and apologetic, they are sending me replacement ones as soon as possible. I only wish now that I ordered more , spent £50 but they are really lovely plates. Thanks again Snap Ant :T

It's a long story and it turns out it wasn't entirely Welfare Right's fault but even so, they had 3 weeks to do it right. WR moved from one building to another. In the old building they came under Social Work and in the new building they are now under Housing so all the files they had in the old building they are no longer allowed access too due to data protection and all that codswallop. WR put a request in to Social Work to send me a copy of a Grampian Autistic Society report but some dozy sod at SW went in to my file and pulled the first thing out that had 'G.A.S' on it and sent it to me. Before I got back to town both WR and SW emailed me to say the correct thing had been pulled from my file and that I should pop in to collect it or to let them know if I want it posted to me. So that calmed me down. Plus, I kind of timed my arrival back in to town so I would be back just as the council offices were closing. I kind of wish I hadn't now as the bus stops a 5 minute walk from them and I could have popped in and picked it up this evening as it's quite urgent.

    That's him - well remembered karlie :-)

And as for berbastrike - he is a memory from the past i didn't think i'd hear the name of again. A real intriguing character! I will have to check out his more recent posts to see if he's still as objectionable as ever!

Bedtime for me but thanks all for your warm welcome - look forward to catching up.again soon :-)

I got a couple of these at a penny each as well - why oh why am i the only one in my house who can use it without spilling milk everywhere:eek::eek:, i have had to end up chucking them as a few times i have had the fridge door full of milk, or a pint of milk all across the side rather than in a bowl or a cup, and when they start to spill it, why don't they just stop pouring - its not difficult, but for anyone in my house they must think its rocket science - rant over sorry:eek::eek::eek:

I gave up using them as the bagged milk is a bit on the expensive side. :(

    Taken on Cocos beach.
    Elite.jpg

    Hi all.
The Elite meet has taken place!:T :D:beer:
We've had a lovely day. Met up on a local beach and went for a couple of Pina Coladas. Took an afternoon tour, had a swim and showed zippy and his DW a bit of the island.

Zippy's comments below, on my login.

We're meeting again on Wednesday for a tour round the other side of the island, taking in Fig Tree Drive and Half Moon Bay, with a quick stop at Nelsons Dockyard if time allows. Haven't caught up yet, but will skim and try to post later. Hugs to all x

Well dinner was ok but the sausage pie was quite bland so the chickens will be happy with their brekkie tomorrow ;):rotfl:Most of it was eaten though and for 10p I ain't complaining! :D Had it with sauteed pots with bacon and garlic and Branston beans and a crusty poppy seed roll warmed in the oven as there wasn't really enough potatoes :o

    From the amazing fruit and veg whoopsies I had the other day, I had some prepared fruit that was past it's best, much of which was pineapple. So I chopped it finely, caramelised it with butter, sugar and a little bit of golden syrup, folded it into a victoria sponge/fairy cake recipe and topped with a sprinle of golden syrup flavour oats so simple and ta da;

    Lighting's pants so appologies! :o

    Wow!!!!

    They are AWESOME!!!!!!!

    Well done:T:j

My muffins were a bit of a disaster. I experimented with courgette. The taste was lovely but they were too moist. Didn't rise properly. Need more work on em!

Had a bit of a cookathon day today as you might have seen on the old style moneysaving grocery challenge thread (what a mouthful that is!)

Really chuffed though. Loads of meals that worked out 10p a serving. Cooked a family meal for today, a different one for tomorrow and 3 more for the freezer. Not bad considering I was also teaching and shopping at various points.

Massive bargain today at the Indian shop. 10 KILOS of onions for 99p!!!!
I bought 5K from Lidl at £1.29 on Saturday and thought that was cheap. Feel ripped off now:rotfl:

    Sorry I haven't been on much. :(

I focus a little more on stretching the pennies through meal plans and divide spends at various shops where items are cheapest. I'm a bit 'Tescoed out'
Too many trouts have taken their toll.
I've missed a few good bargains through not keeping up with the thread though as thoroughly as I used to.
    Missing everyone here though.

Hope everyone is well and prospering.

    X
