Good evening everybody, hope you are all well and happy. :)
Not be on for a while, since i fell of a ladder, shattered my arm and then spent 2 weeks in hospital with a bad infection where the bone had come through the skin.

Still in plaster but now back home and getting out and about. :j

No doubt i've missed plenty of bargains and hundreds of posts, there's no hope of me catching up so I'll just start from here.

So a big HELLOOOO to everyone.

When I was in Mr A today it was odd having £20 odd of APG's to spend and not really sure what to buy - I have lots of everything at the moment!

I have just decided what I'm going to buy myself with them, when I get a few more that is! I'm going to treat myself to some DKNY Fresh Blossom perfume, mine ran out ages ago but I have some of the body lotion and I've just seen on Mr A's website that they sell the very one I want!:j

I can't justify spending £25 on a little bottle of perfume (actually I don't have £25 to spend:() but what a fab freebie!

Now please don't be raining at the weekend I need some serious wombling time!

    :D

I wombled a very long receipt in MrA at the weekend and over £90 of the shopping compared - there wasn't any major differences and MrT was just under a £1 cheaper but because of the 10% cheaper terms the apg is for £9.97 this is my best ever wobble:j:j:j

For lice I didn't want to put any chemicals on DD hair so as others have said lots of conditioner and fine comb - don't buy the metal silver one as it is hard to see the little things on it - they show up really well on the white plastic ones, then just repeat every 2 to 3 days

Does no-one else consider the term "!!!!!" to be offensive? I always thought using it was a no-no

I always save myself the petrol money and leave anything like that out on the street for someone to take. Not having to haul it to the recycling depot reduces the risk of putting my back out or damaging my car. My council would collect it if I asked them to but I don't see the point in organising a collection because it would undoubtedly have been lifted by a passerby before the council ever got to me

I consider people who uplift goods like that to be doing me a service and I think of it as an extreme form of wombling on their part. If I am happy to make money out of other peoples receipts I can't begrudge someone making money out of my unwanted white goods.

But that's just me, obviously you are free to do what you want with your own property

for me personally, I dont mind anyone taking stuff that I've left out for rubbish - so long as they ask first!!!

A few months ago, I left my hoover outside on my back doorstep (behind wrought iron gates) so I could empty it once I'd got back from the school run....when I came back, it had gone - neighbours told me that they'd seen a scrap metal van go by, stop at my house and take it

The problem I have with this is that it was behind my gates - my dog will happily eat anyone who comes through our gates without us 'letting them in'....so had the dog been out at the time (he never is when we are not at home)...the scrap metal person/thief would've had a nasty shock!

And before anyone asks, I asked the police where I stood on this matter - as far as they're concerned, this was an act of theft, and although they cannot justify a dog attacking a person, if the thief decided to prosecute, a judge would be 50/50 on who was in the right :)

Years ago (in the same house) we replaced our back boiler and all copper piping and left it on the drive (behind the gates) - scrap metal person asked if they could take it and I said no as we were going to cash it in....I got home from work to find the lot had been taken

for me its just the principle of asking before you take someones property - and until consent is given to take the item it is theft!
hoping for a very MSE Ts glitching 2012!

I know everyone's preferences are different but I have always been happiest with nit comb, large bottle conditioner and some patience for repeat sessions :)

Yes I agree! Comb and conditioner works well. Unless in a hurry or late at night!

Conditioner and fine comb sounds a lot less harsh than lotions - I nearly scalped my ds once

Still have memories of my hair being brushed over white paper and my dad squashing fleas as they fell on it
