My son has come home from school really itchy and think 1st bout of head lice just about to pop to pharmacy anybody know what is best to use x

just use loads of conditioner and a fine toothed comb it takes a while and you NEED to do it every 3 days till youve had a couple of comb throughs with nothing coming out.
its best to re check every week while they are about in school/class as they can come back

tea tree scented shampoo and conditioner can deter them
    SPC~12 ot 124

I know everyone's preferences are different but I have always been happiest with nit comb, large bottle conditioner and some patience for repeat sessions :)

that's what I always used, but I had boys with very short hair.

I've got one of those electronic lice combs - the audible tone changes when it has located one - and is in the process of electrocuting it :D

Oodles of conditioner and a very fine comb! Wash the hair, drown it in conditioner and comb it through very well, repeat every 3/4 days for a couple of weeks. It was the only way I finally got rid of DD's! Also, a little bit of tea tree oil can act as a deterrent.

Oh god, is this something I have to look forward to?! I'd love to nominate my OH for this fatherly duty but the wimp in him would run a mile.

the "nitty gritty" nit combs are very good, i got one a few years ago from sainsburys when my daughter came home with the little blighters

have just looked on the nitty gritty website and it says they are aproved for nhs prescription so maybe you can get them free of charge from a chemist ?

    Tenth Anniversary Combo Breaker
When my ds was at play group he came home 3 times with them i went to the chemist and bought everything i could. I told the play group leader, but every time i got rid of sons and he went back to play group he got them again some one must not have been treating thier child and was crawling. I pulled him out in the end and now i always use tea tree shampoo and conidtioner and have never had them since, even when we have had letters home to say they are about in school so i dont know if the tea tree works or not or if ive been lucky at school.
