    What a lovely story :j

I work for the NHS and generally all I hear is people complaining, whether its patients because i cant get them seen yesterday, or staff because we have too much being put on us without the extra resources to deal with something. The NHS is knackered. And its just going to get even more knackered.

It really truly does make my day when I hear things like you have posted, so thank you :)

it only takes one wee story like this to truly make everyones jobs for the nhs truly worthwhile thank you for this post so glad you have truly been thru the mill with ur wee one, it does tend to be people with big problems that are the ones who are so grateful. you always meet complainers but its not hard to cope with the long hours and difficult conditions when you read something like this, hugs to you and good health xxxx[/QUOTE]
Ne5555, glad your DS was treated and I agree it is a story with a really good outcome. I have numerous stories about the NHS, all of them are amazing, and I think doctors/nurses/ambulance drivers and everyone involved are such caring and superb people. My experiences are of Dad falling ill 10 years ago and being in intensive care for over a month (luckily, he recovered despite the grim possibilities). When I went into labour with my DS, my local hospital had (and still has) such a bad reputation for the maternity ward but I was treated excellently and would not change a thing.

And when my 12 day old DS went into the childrens ward and then finally to Oxford for a stomach operation, everyone involved could not have been nicer or more caring than they were. I have been really touched by people in the NHS and medical profession and they are absolute angels :A. Yes, there are some bad experiences however, you need to remember that doctors / nurses and the like are not God, they are humans at the end of the day and trying their best to help. I think credit is due.

    (phew, saga over!)

That is SO cool! I guess the H&S brigade will close the road when planes are landing. It is something else totally when a tornado flies so low so close to you. I have seen it many times when driving through Wales. Sadly i didnt get to see any today :(

I live close to an Airbus place with a runway, and we get to see some fab stuff, spitfires doing their display stuff, red arrows taking off 3 at a time, concorde flew right over my house on its final flight, to see the A380 doing low flying is fab.

Every couple of years they have an airshow, last time we had the vulcan flying right down low over my house. I was proper scared for my windows :rotfl:

Gather you must live around Br*st*l somewhere then, i too stood outside where i use to live to watch Concorde take its final flight, it just seems so sad now when i go up past cribbs to see it sat all alone and forgotten about in the corner of the airfield:(:(:(

i live not far from cribbs

2 generations of my family had various involvement with concorde and i think its absolutely scandalous that it still doesnt have a home yet. I remember when we were little driving past and it was in one of the hangars on the other side of the airfueld on several occasions so its not as if they couldnt put it in there and build a museum around it. No, they want to sell it all off and build more bloody houses that no-one can afford :mad::mad:

Well I whacked the camera on full manual today and took some pics. Mixed results it has to be said but better than I expected. Will put dinner on and offer up a couple for your criticisms.
