I thought this until recently, had a gift of a coat bought for me that I did not want and there was nothing I wanted in exchange so asked if I could have a moneycard as I did not have receipt, sa said no but said I could buy anything that was not food instead, she suggested washing powder, books etc in the end I exchanged for dvd's. I noticed they'd moved it in mine on Monday too....It used to be at the end of the meats just in front of the deli counter, so at the back of the store.
They've now moved it to the other end of the opposite ailse so it's slap bang in the middle of the store and facing you as you are walking into the shop.
Maybe they think more people will notice it and will buy at the piddly little bit they reduce it by rather than the 80 - 90% they sometimes have to give.

My nearest store is 100 miles away in Bristol. My daughter regularly goes there though and I see it's in Cabot Circus which is where she shops, so I'll let her choose something.
