commuting the stress that doesn't pay.
Hi Money saving experts,
I was hoping to get a little bit of feedback from the wealth of knowledge here on the forum!
I'm a product design student from Cardiff metropolitan uni and am tackling a design project which is aiming to improve the commuting experience. As research from the trades union council shows "workers around the UK are spending a total of 1.8 million hours commuting every day, the equivalent of £266m worth of working time."
I'd love any feedback from you on the subject.
Many Thanks

Is that "£266m worth of working time" per day or per year or what?
We need to know... after all... we're all in it together.0 -
I have to drive almost a mile to get to work, its a right ball ache having to roll out of bed at 8.45 just to get there on time. And I'm raging, boss was on about moving office nearly 2 miles further away, would mean getting up at 8.30am. I didn't even know there was an 8.30am!0

Yeah an EU ruling which says that noone is allowed to work more than 10 minutes travelling time away from home.0

I commute for 1.5hrs a day - nothing can make that better. Except when paddington has freebies being given out - I was handed a years worth of deodorant once

If you aim for the moon if you miss at least you will land among the stars!0 -
The first thing I used to do in the morning was look out of the window to see if work was still there, could have gone back to bed if it wasn't. The boss then moved me an hour away, told him to stuff his job0

I should imagine most people are capable of balancing the benefits of a certain job against the time cost and hassle it takes to commute to it.
Don't know quite what the OP expects, unless he'd like TUC/BBC/NULab/Tory (all the same PC carp anyway) piped into any and all forms of travel including being permanently switched on at listening volume in you own car...roll on 1984.0
