TOP TEN USELESS ISPs & BROADBAND SUPPLIERS

13 days into no broadband supply from "Ezee it aint 186.k" and with no sense of when it will be fixed- why don't we start a To Ten Of Most useless ISPs- with a weekly Top Crap Service of The Week Award?
It is high time this industy is properly regulated. Too many of them break contracts and waste huge amounts of customers time, energy and money without being responsible about their duties as ISP providers.
I have been unable to get throught to any Ezee DSL "suport" line during the whole period of having my supply cut , despite being given other numbers to try through by their so called 186.k forum. If I call - and I have tried calling from various phones (after they blamed the problem of getting through on customers phone carriers!), and all you get is the unobtainable tone - others among the many having similar problems to me occasionally get through to a call centre in India but say they get no real help.
A so called Forum for 186k has endless people with similar problems.
I asked Ezee DSL for my MAC code if the problem was not fixed by last Friday lunchtime (and was promised I would have it by them), but needless to say it was not fixed, and I don't yet have a MAC code. It is maddening. I think there should be a top ten of the worst ISP's and Ezee DSL would be on it.
They have also ignored all my requests for a date for when when their so called speed up for all the ex-Fast 24 customers they grabbed, in a V21 style takeover last autumn, will get the speed upgrade from 2 meg to 8 meg. Cuurently before having no broadband at all for nearly two weeks, the speed had DROPPED from closer to 2 meg down to 288K. Useless.
I am sure there are many other ISP providers who can compete with this nonsense.
Let's highlight the problem.

Under new rules from the 14th Feb, the ISP should provide you with a MAC code in 5 days.
From the Ofcom website -Where the MAC process applies, and your ISP does not issue you with a MAC, or refuses to accept a MAC, you should make a formal complaint to the ISP using the company’s normal complaints process. You can find details of this on the back of your bill. You can also contact Ofcom in order to register your complaint with us.
Where the problem remains unresolved, make a formal complaint to Ofcom.Dave. :wave:0 -
Thanks- I had already asked for a MAC code from them over 5 days ago and have not yet had it. They didn't answer phones or emails for some 10 days so unless it arrives today I will be sending a complaint to the regulator- throuble is it all wasted time and does not get me online.0

You could use the BT Watchdog survey to post your views, I just had a look and the EZEE net lot are not listed Biscit/V21 are though.

Yes thanks, I had already asked them to add Ezee to their list - I think Pipex may be on their already.0

Have a look here:

for a very good ratings list. Scroll down to find hundreds of reports from users. This ratings graph is based upon user reports. Very useful. DSLZoneUk is ace.0 -

Do put your comments on Pipex (or anyone else eg Ezee 186k) into this

Ezee is close to the bottom (ie the worst ) at the moment- Orange and Tiscali are making their presence felt too.0 -
Just a quick note regarding the issue of a MAC code within 5 days. Requesting a MAC code from your ISP simply means they request this code from BT who then have 5 days to send this MAC back to your ISP. Most ISPs have an automated service connected to your email address which automatically sends an email containing your MAC out once received. BT sometimes do take more than 5 days to return this MAC code, it is not always the providers fault.0
