Thanks to everyone for the info, saves me wasting my time going to an interview today.
When I asked about the job details, they said, they will go through all that at the interview. Being suspicious, I asked - is this a sales, commission only position then? The lady on the phone said - oh, no, this is a salaried position.
Kirkby hovers, I knew someone in Luton who worked for them just before being certified. Kid you not!0 -
My son just did 3 months with this firm over summer before going back to Manchester University. I must say he really loved it and there weren't any issues with earnings. He did work hard I'll confess but he did that the previous year as well working in a care home. I remember him saying that all the work is target based and the earnings and targets can be achieved if you work hard.
Thats the down side, I know my boy has always given 100% from a very young age, I'd recommend only apply for this type of work if you really are prepared to work hard to achieve targets. Target driven earnings don't suit everyone and I'm sure its not all the company's fault if someone doen't achieve as much as the next person.
He worked some weekends and some evenings and didn't leave the company disgruntled in any way.
Good luck

Hmmmm first post praising said company......I smell BSI refer to my byline below ...
Ad hominem
An attack upon an opponent in order to discredit their arguement or opinion. Ad hominems are used by immature and/or unintelligent people because they are unable to counter their opponent using logic and intelligence.0 -
This is a scam. I had the interviews & did the training & Yes, the Kirby machine is unbelievably fantastic, everyone should have one. But have a look on the Internet. It's £2395 (yes Two Thousand & Ninety Five of your hard earned English Poundssterling). Internet coats are best part of £2000 cheaper.
They don't pay for training (3 days), it's a small office which is rented for untracability to the every day person.
The owner & trainer seem very nice but are ruthless. They tell you that out of the 60 leads per month, all have shown interest in the machine & they get a free carpet shampoo. .. However, none of the customers know about Kirby machine, they want a free carpet shampoo. And yes, it's very very good.
I found this video on the net, based on America but all the same circumstance to hT solutions
Go to youtube & search for "Kirby Vacuum Cleaner Scam". The video is posted by DigitalDisaster

I worked with Kirby's in early 90's in Wolverhampton. Their products were awesome and people that bought them loved them and had them for years. I remember when they recruited people they tried people that were simply not cut out for selling. I mean there were people that couldn't tuck their shirts in for an interview even. But they tried them and gave them a chance anyways. Ultimately when these people failed they always blamed the company or the people that worked there instead of being grateful that someone gave them a chance in the first place. If you are seriously interested in a sales opportunity then its worth a try. nothing ventured nothing gained. If sales is not for you then try something else.

Same in the UPVC trade. I been in Windows/Doors/Conservatories Sales management for years and we've been open to the same criticisms, mainly by people didn't pull their weight when it came to the hard work that it takes to get their new 'career' off the ground or people that stepped outside their comfort zone and realised that sales work is very different to many other jobs as the onus to get results in on the individual.
Not everyone gets success in everything that they do but some of the people that don't succeed often could have done if they stuck to the company's suggested programs.
If you apply for a career in sales, it doesn't mean your going to FAIL just because others before you might have. But only apply for direct sales if you can offer real commitment to learn to get yourself off the ground. Its a tough tough world and customers can be mean. The rewards are there but they have to be earned through real hard work.
The world doesn't owe us a living, it has to be earned. If hard work scares you, UPVC, Charities, Alarms, Vacuums, Kitchens will scare you even more.
Some of these types of companies offer great rewards to achievers and amazing services to their customers yet they're all branded scams by people because not everyone succeeds with them or agrees with their structure, pricing or look of the wallpaper in the office.0 -
I worked for this company at the end of last year. I enjoyed the job as although the days were long hours (8.30am till anywhere from 8pm to 11pm) the day would go very quick! But unless you work this hours 6 days a week you wont get the results they promise. they promised me promotions to keep me working but it got to the point I just couldnt afford the petrol money anymore to drive from nottingham to Derby or Leicester everyday and also having to run around driving new staff. Their constantly hiring as most people realize at the beginning its total BS. I spent 3 months there and granted I did make a decent amount of sales but it wasnt enough to break even with the cost of working there. We was all in debt and most of us only staying because our debts meant we had no choice, sounds very dramatic but its true. I would be made to feel guilty for wanting just one day off in the week, wanting two days off and the boss's would just laugh at you. Please if you are considering taking a job with ht solutions, reconsider. Its not costing them anything to hire you, they only pay you for the sales you make for them, despite what they promise.
(sorry about all the grammar mistakes, ive rushed through this!)0 -
