Well here's my story. It's Saturday, June 28th, and my cell phone rings just before I make my way to the supermarket for a little grocery shopping. There's a friendly young lady asking me if I'd be interested in working for H-T Servicing Limited.

I thought it was odd that somebody would be calling me on a Saturday asking about an available job position, and especially odd that it wasn't a call from a job recruitment agency. I mentioned to her about this (I didn't catch her name) and she asked if it wasn't a problem to spend a few minutes on the phone about the position. Sure, why not?

As it turned out it was a few positions and I made it clear to her that I'm not the sales-person type, in fact I've never been keen on sales work. She said it wasn't a problem - there will be no telemarketing but there will be the occasional incoming call from clients wanting to buy parts for their vacuum cleaners. Hmm... Carry on.

The job would be up in the Sheffield area where I live but I'll need to attend an interview in their Nottingham head office. Okay, I'll try and make it. But the woman could only fit me in for the interview on the Monday afternoon which didn't give me much time to prepare. But what the heck. Yes, I'll go along, I told her.

Before we both were about to hang up, I asked where she got my resume/CV from. She didn't have a copy, she told me. Well, would you be able to send me an e-mail with more information of the job and full contact details including the address you gave me? No, she told me. She had no access to the Internet where she was calling from on the Saturday. I asked if she could e-mail me in the morning from a place with e-mail access (like her office) before I head off to Nottingham. No, that wasn't possible either because, and she told me that now she was being honest here: "There were technical difficulties with their e-mail in the office and a BT engineer was still looking into it."

So I'm guessing that she found my name from a job recruitment agency that have made my CV public for employers even though she claimed not to have my CV with her; perhaps it was in the office. Anyway, we confirmed the interview date, time and location, said goodbye and hung up.

Something just didn't seem right. No copy of my CV with her, no e-mail facilities at present with her firm, and calling on a Saturday. After doing a lot of Internet searching for the company using the address information she gave me (Rani Business Park, 5 Rani Drive, off Arnold Road, Nottingham NG6 0ED), I came by this site and it appears quite frankly that my suspicions were well-founded.

I'm glad I came across this forum and I'm grateful to you folks for all the heads-up info you've posted here. I was all set to have a nice shave, trim my hair and donned my three-piece suit on the way to Nottingham for an interview with a bunch of meat-heads who would be talking to me about cold calling opportunities. That sure was some close shave.

No effing way am I working for them, no matter how sexy that young woman sounded! (Then again, I still have her number. :happyhear)

Okay I seen advertisment in the leicester mercury.advertised sales and driver roles with a nottingham area code. Around 4pm I rang the number
And I was given a interview the next day to my amazement.
The lady on phone said everything will be xplained when you come to interview as therr are several positions.
The interview was in Nottingham I went to it.
I noticed outside the gates there were alot of nice cars
So I was thinking wow this is a great job as there are some high rollers here.
The interview went well it was with a asian man with a beard from sheffield he didnt explain much to me didnt even look at my c.v and just went over sketchy details and I was invited for a second interview.
In the second interview the man said u have 2 visit 4 customers a day 24 a week for a £250 wage perweek.
Plus u get 20percent bonus on top for what u sell.
I asked are these existing customers and not cold callling.
His body language and facial expressions changed and the tone of his voice denying the allegation. And he said why do u say that. I just said oh I was curious.
Anyway he then said u have 2 pay for your own petrol and u could go as far as Newcastle in a day using your own car.
This is not the job for me these ppl sound like con artists
  • One of my family fell for this shister.. he offers what seems like a dream job, plus you rack up putting petrol in your car which they say they will help you get back at the end of the tax year. The man behind this company is Fiaz Mahmood Mughal.. He was in court a couple of years ago and got charged over £17k for defrauding the public.. Do not even bother going for the interview as his false promises will only end up with you in debt..

A friend of a friend infiltrated this Co' 2yrs ago as his nephew had been sucked in & wasted a fair amount money on a false dream.

He reckons it's run more along the lines of a 'cult' than a business & it has a very dark side to it that he touched upon but got out of very quickly !

This outfit would make an excellent Donal Macintyre type documentary.

  • Hello all, I got a interview with this company about 4 weeks ago now. Before I went I read this thread and a couple of others from Google as I was sceptical. I am very glad I decided to give it a go rather than listening to this thread. I have been working for them 3 weeks now as a service engineer. I did not think I would be qualified to do the job but they gave me fantastic training. The customers I meet are so happy with the company and their customer service. So I don't know where these people on these threads get their info.
It really is a great place to work and the pay is fantastic. I would recommend it if you ever get the opportunity.

  • My son fell for this hook line and sinker. Went for the interview one day and got set on the next. We live in Sheffield, so there was a lot of travelling involved. We lent him money for train travel for the following 3 days , so he could attend training . He was assured he would be reimbursed,. We then lent him money for a car because this job sounded wonderful. apparently you could earn hundreds a week, he was told he would get £250 a week plus commission on sales. The first week he was on the road mostly with someone else. He worked at least 50 hours the following week and as he was on the servicing side only had the chance to sell service packages which earned next to nothing. The week after he worked another heavy week and actually sold a machine which he lost the commission on because the customer phoned the office to buy after he spent 2 hours demonstrating.. BUT ther is a massive catch, you only get the £250 if you get at least 25 service calls a week which means working 7 days a week and 12 hours a day. So when it came to pay day he was told he was only going to get £90 for 3 weeks work. Bear in mind he spent a lot more than that on fuel. He decided to jack it in when they told him what he was going to get and has received no money DO NOT GO NEAR !!!!!!!!!! this company want exposing in the media and closing down for bad practice
